Your most comfortable and natural "pointing" revolver?

good thread....hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Toss up between my Smith 625 Mountain gun and my Colt Trooper, both 4".

I think the 625 wins out.

a S&W 640 and Craig Spegel boot grips,but i'm blaming it on the Spegel's.
the next S&W i get will be an N frame because i love the feel of the gun. i will get Spegels for it,and i'm betting results will be similar.
i really like Rugers as well, but haven't found the ideal grip for them yet.

I am with Ala Dan - the M629, or M29 Classic with the 5" underlug barrel, and the factory Hogue grips is the most natural pointing of the revos I now own. Likewise, I have small hands, too.

My SP-101 with Uncle Mike's boot grips, the GP-100 with factory grips is a close second. But, the handgun that has always pointed the most naturally for me has been the 1911A1. It's just that I got converted to wheel guns a few years back and I don't shoot my 45 as much as I used to.

Oh, we're all quite familiar with those suckers! M27s, M28s, 38/44s, we love them all :) This is like the offical N-frame fetish forum of the net during some weeks.

I think I've got to vote for Model 10, square butt, skinny 4". There are others running close behind.

Comfortable DA shooting - - -

- - -Seems most natural for me with a K-Frame S&W with small stocks and a Pachmayr grip adapter.

When I was a new deputy, a Fort Worth PD instructor taught me the use of target stocks, cut off at the bottom of the frame. I got the same effect with standard stocks and adapter. My little finger curled beneath the bottom of the butt seems to give added control. Anyhow, it works for me. That, and many thousands of rounds in practice. I was also a devotee of Bill Jordan's book, No Second Place Winner, and became a pretty decent point-shooter.

Same with the round butt revolvers, and I actually like their feel better. My best feeling DA now is a 3" RB model 10. I want a Tamara-style M65 3", for the magnum option. I'll still mostly carry my Commander, but the wheel gun option is nice, too.;)

This is going to sound (strange?) or something.

The pistol that fits my hand the best is the Colt 1851 Navy.

It just balances so well for me. It is the only gun I have ever been able to point shoot. Good thing because the sights are
non existant.

Those tactical reloads sure are rough without an extra cylinder though.

It is not the only gun I own or the oldest. My dad gave it to me Christmas the year Colt reissued them. I can group it as good as any of my other pistols K-38, Python, Gold Cup.

Doesn't make sense, just works.

Cheers,

ts
