Superstition: 1 a: a belief or practice resulting from ignorance, fear of the unknown, trust in magic or chance, or a false conception of causation b: an irrational abject attitude of mind toward the supernatural, nature, or God resulting from superstition
2: a notion maintained despite evidence to the contrary
Using this in conjunction with myth, which in common vernacular suggests a story which isn't true i.e. "its a myth that guns go off by themselves" implies that religion is a farce.
I would surely hope that you aren't going to hide behind some mincing of terms when you an I both know that those words as interpreted today mean that something is bogus.
