Your first introduction to handguns....do you remember when?

First handguns I remember shooting were my father-in-law's revolvers: one was a .22 (Taurus, I think), and a Dan Wesson .357. I was in my mid-20s. Several years later, I bought my first handguns: a Browning Buckmark, and a Smith & Wesson 4013. Still have and shoot both regularly.
 
I was home on Christmas leave from the Army, took my (long gone, alas M1911 (NOT A1) down to the basement, set up an improvised bullet trap, popped off a few.
I did not become a truly good pistol shot until I was on a pistol team in college, practicing Bullseye with my High Standard Victor.
