I only keep enough handguns to cover different carry scenarios. All of my handguns are used and I don't like to keep safe queens. When rust may be a factor the guns have been refinished in a rust preventative finish. I've gone through numerous handguns and these are the ones that have landed in these spots. Accuracy, reliability, and concealment are factors that helped me choose. I believe them to be some of the finest for these situations. I have a few 2nd choices listed in the second spot. What are your picks for handguns in the following situations? Mine are as follows, first my primary/ then secondary.

Deep Summer Carry(or back up): Ruger LCP .380-refinished/ Walther PPK .380-stainless

Summer Carry: Walther PPS .40/ Hk P7 PSP 9mm-refinished

Winter Carry: Hk P7 9mm/ CZ P-01

Full Size Carry: CZ 75B .40/ Glock 17 9mm

Woods or other special circumstances: Bear season Ruger Alaskan .44 stainless/ Glock 30

I usually tote a HK P2000sk on my belt. When just a little something is called for I throw a Seecamp in my pocket. A couple times a year, I jump into a shoulder holster sporting a Sig P232.

Spring Carry: Glock 26
Deep Summer Carry: Glock 26
Summer Carry: Glock 26
Fall Carry: Glock 26
Early Winter Carry: Glock 26
Midwinter Carry: Glock 26
Late Winter Carry: Glock 26

Woods gun: Glock 20

I really need to work on being more consistent and less fickle, but I'd feel silly trying to tote the 10mm everywhere, and even a black bear deserves a little more respect than a 9mm can give it.

My year round carry is always either a full size 1911 or a standard size Glock, in a Galco IWB holster. I'm open to the idea of getting a sub compact. I've wanted a G27 for a long time. Most of the time I carry a small frame revolver too.

In the summer, I go to a Sig 239 in .40 ( some of the time )...

But 90% of the time, I carry a 1911 5" in .45 acp ....makes me feel warm and fuzzy .....( but I don't live in a hot climate either )...

Gigglesnort. :p

I used to rotate a lot.

Not so much now.

Spring Carry - Colt Commander.
Summer Carry - Colt Commander.
Fall Carry - Colt Commander.
Winter Carry - Colt Commander.
Autumnal Equinox Carry - Colt Commander.
Winter Saturnalia Festival Carry - Colt Commander.
To Church at Easter - Colt Commander, but I polish the slide a bit.
Desert Carry - Colt Commander.
Slumber party in Tommy's tree-fort - Colt Commander.

Colt LW Commander in .45acp. Everywhere, except in high country. Then it's a .44 Redhawk.

My 99.9% of the time carry is a Smith and Wesson M&P 45 fullsize 4.5 in bbl. Hog hunting it is a .357 mag. Colt Python. Alaska in the woods it is a .357 Wildey Magnum, or the .475 Wildey Magnum.

I'm a gun nut newbe. When I started in Mar of this year I thought all I needed was the XDsc - really great gun and easy to shoot well. Then I figured out I needed a DW CBOB - also a great gun. I tried rotating these two, but they are such different platforms it just didnt work for me. I went to a defensive handgun course and remembering to take the safety off on the DW, after shooting the XD really screwed me up and convinced me to stick with one platform for CCW. That is till I just bought a Taurus 709. I will never learn.

I almost always carry the 386 Night Guard. It just disappears in anything I wear, in a Smartcarry. I had to order the extra wide model, the L and N frames fit them nicely. 7 shots of .357 are nice, and so are 6 shots of .44 mag, but only specials for ccw in the 329 Night Guard that is sitting in the safe. I need a few range sessions with it before putting it on.

I do occasionally carry the P2000sk, in .40, or the Sig P245, but the 386 is just too easy to carry. The best thing about the Smartcarry is that you can always carry a larger gun, more comfortably. Pockets are free, no need for outer garment or tucking the shirt a certain way. I wish everyone would try it, just for a week, and see. Heck, with a 30 day money back guarrantee, what is to be lost?

One gun. I don't have to remember what I'm carrying, how it operates, or how many rounds it holds.

Springfield XD9SC

For the last three years:
Kahr PM9 March-November, Kahr P45 for the "winter months".
Effective last November:
S&W L or N-frame, .357 or .45LC respectively.
Effective about March of this year:
Kahr P-45.

Bottom line--it's a moving target, and I'm slowly moving towards a larger caliber and a larger pistol year-round.
I hope to get to the point where I'm carrying "something that starts with a 4" year round, but I'm not there yet.

The fact that I'm 50+, with several back surgeries behind me :) and of a limited stature (5'9", 145 lbs) adds to the challenge, but...I am committed. :)

I'm jeeeeesssst getting started on CC.

But I plan on using my Sig 226 .40 all the time. I got a wardrobe built for it and can carry comfortably in almost any situation.

For the VERY few times I couldn't, I plan on getting a smaller one. Either .380 or (preferably) small 9mm. Still probably be belt-held though.

One thing I DO plan on doing is getting a shoulder holster for winter carry, then using my S&W .41 mag. I've had it out the past week and it's a nice gun. Plus deadly reliable, (So's my sig, but a nice change after my 1911).

I like this format

Spring Carry: Kimber Pro Carry II
Deep Summer Carry: Kimber Pro Carry II
Summer Carry: Kimber Pro Carry II
Fall Carry: Kimber Pro Carry II
Early Winter Carry: Kimber Pro Carry II
Midwinter Carry: Kimber Pro Carry II
Late Winter Carry: Kimber Pro Carry II

Woods gun: Ruger Super Blackhawk 44 mag

Springfield G.I. Micro Compact .45 ACP

If you can think of a place to carry it, I do.
If you can think of a time of year to carry it in, I do.
If you can think of a Holliday or special occasion to carry it on, I do.

Either a Springfield Loaded Micro-Compact .45, or an Interarms .380
PPK.
For open-carry, such as while hunting, either a Series '70 Colt .45acp,
or a .45 SAA Colt.
And I may, occasionally, for CCW, slip in a CZ Rami .40sw, or an S&W
model 36 .38 sp.:D
