your 1911 45 0f personal choice

Springfield Armory Loaded. I bought it in 2012 for around $800. Great trigger totally reliable.

The Les Baer TRS was my first high-end 1911.

But then I got bit by the Colt bug, and picked up a few more moderate to high-end production guns and one full custom from the Colt Custom Shop.

I don't own any high end custom or semi custom only because I don't have the funds to do so. I have no problem with spending money on fine handguns (or rifles), I just ant afford to. I do however have a few nice 1911s including a Colt series 80 Government, a Kimber Custom, an SA Ultra Compact and may favorite, a 1954 Colt Commander; all in .45 ACP of course.

Not high dollar, but I always heard Norinco's make a good project to build off of, and I found one cheap enough for it to be feasible for me. The original barrel had some issues on the locking lugs, and the seller added in a colt nm barrel.

I had other finishes from my smith, but none of his parkerizing.
Wilson Fitted bushing, adjustable trigger, sti adjustable night sights, beavertail, commander hammer, oversized saftey, 2pc guide rod, flared lowered ejection port, beveled magwell, and fit like it should be.

I was going for kind of a old school feel, and I'm pleased with the way it turned out, and shoots.

this is my only 1911 at the moment, not really high end but it is a excellent pistol with a Sig match grade barrel.

The only other 1911 I want is also made by Sig, a Nightmare Fastback Carry,

I' can't bring myself to give a couple of grand for a pistol....that's motorcycle money

Nothing fancy. Your basic Rock Island.

For my first, and quite possibly last, 1911 I wanted to go with something close to the original 1911a1 spec.

I used to think that way also but I have changed over time. I now have three motorcycles, I have over 100,000 road miles under me and I no longer ride them at all. I may get back in to it one day but at the moment, my interest in riding is down to about 1%. Maybe less.

Motorcycles are fun but they suck time and they degrade. They are absolutely worth it if it's your thing but the money you put in to a firearm, well kept (and purchased with a little buying skill...) will not degrade over time. These firearms can become heirlooms... the old motorcycles just get worn down or rot.

To the subject, I have a few 1911 pistols but oddly enough, I own only a single 5", .45cal 1911 pistol. That one is a 1991 build Springfield Armory Custom Shop and was built under the management of Les Baer, before he opened up his own business. It's a nice pistol and I like it a lot. But alas... my favorite "1911 45 of personal choice" is not actually a true 1911, it is a hybrid and it has features that are quite reminiscent of a 1911.

Mine is a Smith & Wesson Performance Center 945-1 and it looks like this:

That pistol isn't mine, it's just one I found via google.

The 945 was a hand-built pistol by the now long-gone Smith & Wesson Performance Center. It is among the most accurate handguns that I own.
