You like handguns or rifles better?

For me I like handguns better. I know rifles make a better weapon overall. Long range, more power. More rounds. But I could take a handgun anywhere. And there's just something satisfying about a quality handgun. Don't know what it is. So, which do you guys like better?

I have a rather odd situation....

I like rifles better in the grand scheme of things, but, I suck - I mean I really, really, really suck with a rifle.

Handgun?
No problem.

As a result, I take a much more active interest in handguns.

When I was a hunter I liked rifles better. Now that my shooting is strictly on a range I prefer handguns. I do still like the rifles once in awhile, but my farthest target is only 200 yards, which is fine for the 22lr (100yds) and the Mini-14, but not that much for the 270.

I would have to say given the choice of only 1 firearm to possess, it would definately be a rifle. I like handguns and feel they have their purpose (and they are fun) but I'm inclined to take the 'Quigley Down Under' approach. :D

Only 1, I think I would go with a shotgun. Fortunately, I am not under that restriction.:D

I just like guns. I have more handguns but that's kinda because of storage issue and I shoot handguns more because I have an indoor range close that doesen't allow rifles. That may also have something to do with the quanity as well.

"Like" is a tricky question. I'm trying to think what I'd shoot if I could only choose one. I really don't know. I'm sooooo much better with rifles than handguns but it's hard to find a gun that generates more grins and school-girl-like giggles than my Encore Pro Hunter handgun in 7mm-08, way more fun than a 7mm-08 rifle.

I think I like small-caliber, low-recoil rifles better and high-power, big BOOM handguns better.

As a tool, I find long guns better

They are capable of so much more than handguns.
I love my handguns, but if I had to give up one or the other, easy choice.

Edge to handguns. But I must confess, I really enjoy a day at the range, shooting maybe one round every few minutes with my FAL, or a bolt .22 at 100 yards. Fairly cheap and great for the blood pressure.

MoGas1341:
KMAX I agree 100% A Rem 870 with a full set of choke tubes

Plus 18" barrel for home defense and maybe a rifled slug barrel and you have the best single gun around. Or would that be considered three guns?

I prefer handguns. Don't know why - I just enjoy them the most. I used to enjoy dove hunting a lot, but it kind of faded away for me.

"Like is a tricky question"
Brian I agree but I would call it a very difficult question.
The only way I could answer that is two ways. Military rifles and N frame S&W revolvers.
I don’t think I could choose between the two.
I still like the question.

Depends at what I'm doin'. At the range, I enjoy the handguns the most. Hunting, it depends on the species and the scenario. For upland game and turkeys I prefer my shotguns.

.........and then there's the bow.:o

I like handguns much more, even though I'm pretty subpar at them due to my garbage eyesight.

I'm not stubborn about it though. If I'm in trouble and have time I'll go for the AR. :p

I'm a rifle guy.
One of my favorite things about guns is the mechanics of them and just exactly how they function. With rifles, there is more variety in that respect.

Plus, I shoot rifle a helluvalot better than handguns.

A handgun is merely a tool for fighting your way to a real gun:p
