So on the lighter side of things . . .

You know you are a gun nut when . . .

You own four gun safes just to hold it all . . .
When you go to the LGS, more often than not one of the guns on consignment there is one you own or used to own . . .
At least once in your life you've been to the range five days in a row . . .
You are on a first name basis with all the staff at the range . . .
You have at least three buddies who let you come shoot on their land . . .
You bough a gun just because you didn't have one in that caliber . . .
You give your favorite guns names . . .
You spouse never has to think about what to get you for birthdays or Christmas . . .

What else you got?

Life is good.

When someone asks how many guns you own and you have a hard time remembering exactly how many there are. Then when they ask about the guns/calibers you sound like a Wikipedia article describing everything in excruciating detail. Then even you realize you have a problem, but still can't stop thinking, "Should I buy a .41 Magnum just because?".

You're the first person friends and family call with a gun question.

When the whack job on the news who had an arsenal and thousands of rounds of ammunition was less well armed than you.

Oh, this is me......definitely me.

you enter a bank with a rifle in your hand without an intention to rob it...

Yep, that's right, it happened to me. I had my rifle modified, picked it up but needed to withdraw some cash to pay the gunsmith so I jumped out of the car with the rifle in my hand (I pretty much did not realize it was there) and went to the bank. There was an ATM machine inside the bank right behind the entry doors. I withdrew my cash, paid the guy and.... realized I am probably the first guy to ever enter the bank with a rifle in my hands to "take away my own money" :D

The CCTV security guy must have had a lot of fun that day...

I was in the IDF many years ago. Had a weekend leave and stopped at the bank to get some cash. After about 10 minutes, and mid-way through the serpentine line, I remembered I had my M-16 on my shoulder. Nobody batted an eye, so I forgot about it and went on about my business. I wonder if there would have been any reaction if I was carrying my usual Mag58?

When you're telling a family member about the vintage revolver you bought and you say "So I took it to my gunsmith ..." and the family member stops you and says "Wait. You have your own gunsmith?"

When you buy a gun to match the reloading dies you found in a box of stuff from a trade.

When you can identify the gun the bad guy uses in a movie and not even notice the actor holding it.

When you spend too time freezing the play back to try to identify the gun(s) used. (Firefly anyone?)

When the sound of "Glock" getting cocked in a movie makes you cringe.

When all of your PINS or passwords are cartridges/ calibers.

When you think "John Moses" would be a good name for your son.
And consider it for a girl.

When your friends tell you to shut up about how that gun wasn't made for the time the movie represents.

When you start counting the round fired. And then wonder how a sub nose revolver shoots 12-50 rds.or a firearm carried by the Police and bad guys have no recoil. How does one miss a guy 25 yds or closer, when he using a full auto rifle? I have actually watched a few movies where the Sniper carried a Pellet rifle. Gamo to be exact.

When after all these years, whenever I watch our own copy of "Jeremiah Johnson," I've got my Hawken rife in my lap... only mine's a .54. :D

I shut off the 3:10 to yuma move strictly because of the gun handling. Guy running a lever rifle fired 2x without working the lever, then worked the lever 2 times without firing, IIRC.
