You be the Judge

loknload,

If you find out more let us know. I would be very interested in finding out what his past crime was. Thanks for posting this, a very valuable thread.

Interesting case. personally, I would have found not guilty. Why? Because they had no hard evidence. Did I think he did it? Sure he did.

Same as the OJ case. I would have voted not guilty. Did he do it? Sure as the sun rises in the east.

The point is, I believe in the innocent until proven guilty standard. In neither case (OJ and no gun) is proof of guilt shown (and please, I don't want to start the damn OJ trial over).

BTW, I am curious about felons and firearms. I take it that ANY felony conviction prevents ownership/possesion of firearms???

Even for non-violent stuff?? Such as, an 19 year old joy rides in a car, pays his price in jail, and behaves for 20 years STILL can not own a firearm?? How about a shoplifter that steals $250 (felony amount I think)??

Seriously curiuous.

Just a thought - If society will let a released felon walk the streets, but not let him own a gun, why would we let him walk the streets? Either the justice system has extracted its due and the criminal is now a trusted menber of society, or not, and the criminal should be incarcerated. Do we need to perhaps change the gun laws for felons?

Hi, Dad!!

:D

Back to the topic at hand - It's interesting to look at how much more...well, radical, I've become in the past few years with regards to RKBA. Five years ago, I'd have agreed with the idea of prohibiting felons from owning firearms. Now? Same as above. If the BG is such a threat to society, why's he walking the street?

Later,
Chris
