Yet another unquenchable desire

I find myself suddenly craving a large bore revolver( along with a 9mm semiautomatic but that's another thread). What large bore revolvers are on your lists and why?

I don't have any on my want list but I do own a few. Big bore wheel guns are fun to shoot and make great carry/self defense guns.

I emailed ruger and asked them to make a 4" full underlug Alaskan. The Alaskan looks amazing but I'd like a longer barrel. Oh, and by that I don't mean put a rifle-looking barrel on the end of an underlugged barrel. Or a Gp100 44 mag?

S&W Model 29. So nice to own I have two.

Colt Single Action, this one is chambered in .44WCF (.44-40)

And last, but not least, if you reload and like something different try a Smith Model 57. .41 Mag goodness

For me the .44 Mag is as large a caliber as I want to shoot and I really don't like shooting flamethrower loads at that.. As I age I like the .41 mag more and more.

Biggest wish list gun is a Dan Wesson .445 SuperMag.

Second on the list is a tie between a Dan Wesson .414 SuperMag and a S&W 57 .41 Magnum.

Great replies and pics guys!! I'm liking the s&w 45acp revolvers but ruger Alaskan is sweet too! But just once I'd like to shoot s&w 460/500!! Blow up watermelons and such!!

Howdy

Just scratched an itch I have had for a long time. Finally found a S&W 44 Hand Ejector 1st Model (Triple Lock). 44 Special, a target model no less. Been wanting one for a long time.

The S&W M29 is a true classic in all regards.

I really like my 4" M29....

I'd be remiss if I didn't also mention a real fondness for the .45 Long Colt though.
I really like my Blackhawk in .45 Colt.
It does the whole mild to wild thing.

I also have really wanted a Hand Ejector 44... but they're so expensive I could never justify getting one while the Model 21-4 exists. Even though it has an internal lock.

Also on the list is a Lew Horton 3 inch Model 24 and one of the new Model 69's. I'd really like a Dragoon after watching Django Unchained too many times but I don't care for the replica conversions and don't want to get into black powder.

If you are going to get only one, .45Colt.

.44magnum and .454 and so on all have their place. Given the current reloading components environment that looks to be with us for a while, 45 Colt is the one that can burn almost any powder, and be easily loaded from CAS gamesmanship to powerful enough as a legitimate hunting sidearm anywhere in the lower 48.

No disrespect to the CAS shooters. I love that relaoding components for 45 Colt are so (relatively) plentiful, and I have you guys to thank for that.

This classic is my personal favorite,,,

Plain-Jane, run-of-the-mill, 6" Model 629 in .44 Magnum.

Nothing special about her at all,,,
She just goes bang!

I have several big bore revolvers including an unfired SA Colt in the famous 45 colt caliber.

I've had an itch for another revolver in 45 colt caliber, I scratched the itch with the one in the picture.
