Yet another "Help me pick a pistol" thread...

This is gonna come out of left field but...

the ARCUS 94, a Browning hi power copy, is the duty sidearm of the bulgarian military (yeah, not a stunning endorsement, but still) and is available here for sale in the US through Century Arms and others, and sometimes gun shops will stock it. It's 9mm, cheap ($200-$250) and best of all it's probably the most outstanding clone of the hi-power, much more sturdy and reliable than a FEG. Accepts Hi-power mags, grips, et cetera.

It's a hidden but great piece of work.
Look into it and you'll see.

p.s.- Shooting Times has a review from about 5 months ago.

CZ, Ruger, Browning HP...........$350.00 is a low limit........Put an add in the nickel paper "WTB" specify the weapon you want and how much you'll pay. Or go stand around a Pawn shop with a sign..................the ad trick worked for my brother.
good luck

dude, give up the Redhooks and the imported beer for a month and buy . . .

A factory refurbished police trade in . . .

glock19.jpg

Glock 19. See them for $399 plus tax here and there.

Anything else and you'll be trading it away in 6 months flat when all you buds have Glocks and you don't.

Otherwise, buy a used Ruger, CZ, EAA Witness, or HS2000.

As a student who makes his living by tutoring, I basically live off of rice, bagels, peanut butter, and coffee, so saving extra money is essentially impossible. Any expendible income goes only towards gasoline or firearm equipment....

That being said, if I saw a refurb G19 for 399, i'd snatch it pretty quickly. The lowest I have ever seen an G19 in southern Wisconsin is about 450-460.

Right now, I think I've narrowed it down to a CZ75D compact PCR and the G19. I've shot hundreds of rounds through a friend's 19, and I do like it a lot, though I wouldn't be surprised of the CZ's grip fit me better. When I get a chance to handle them both, probably this weekend, I'll probably commit.

Abrahamsmith, I almost replied to Adam Smith but he is another guy. With your income and budget I would look for and find myself an East German Mak. You should plenty of money left for ammo. The Mak is the best pistol out there for the money. Regards, Richard
