Yes, women can handle recoil

My .357 Taurus M66 became my wife's several years ago. She'll shoot anything. She got a hoot out of my buddy's .44M Blackhawk. She doesn't particularly care for high-recoil guns, but putting a round on target seems to more than offset any recoil issues.

Except for the Ruger LCP. She hates it. Which is no problem - nobody ought to shoot a gun they don't like. Besides, it fits really nicely in my pocket in the summertime.

I thought I'd share a little story about a lady who didn't handle it so well.

I remember when I was younger, my ma was out shooting with dad and I. Dad had just bought a 9mm something or other, can't remember what and he doesn't have it anymore. Up until then, mom had only shot a .22 handgun. Mind you, she handled it very well and knew what she was doing.

First squeeze of the trigger a round went downrange at the target, I think the noise and recoil might have scared her, because shot #2 went almost straight up in the air

My girlfriend is a recoil junkie as well. She loves shooting the Mosin, and when she first bought it for me (you have my permission to be jealous :D) she was better than I was with my Colt New Agent .45. But her favorite is the 590A1 with 1-ounce foster slugs :)
