Yes, women can handle recoil

Some can anyway. Here's a pic I captured of my wife shooting her 357 snubby that she likes to tote around. Granted, she only shot 50 (it was all I had). Total recoil junkie, the only pistol of mine she's ever backed away from was my 444 marlin Contender and that was because of the loudness of the brake not the recoil.

And how's that for a fireball?

Women can shoot guns just like men. Heck, I know there are guys out there that think a .357 mag has too much recoil. But my Fiancé can shoot one all day. As long as it doesn't hurt, she'll shoot anything more than once.

My GF wants to shoot my 500, but since im not some YouTube hillbilly that want his GF to get hit in the face with a barrel, I told her I'd load some low recoil rounds for it. I also dont want my gun dropped.

She likes shooting my 40 but my 357 bit her once and she doesn't shoot it any more. I think with different grips she wouldnt have a problem.

My wife shoots my .460 with full factory loads. She doesn't like it tho; says it hurts her wrist and elbow. But .454 Casull's or 45 colt in it, she'll shoot all day.

;) She hits what she shoots at too. Color me impressed!

My wife loves shooting my .357 and even the mosin. The only thing that knocked her down was shooting a 3" hot slug out of my 870 before I put on the recoil stock. She still got back up and shot it again though

All the time when people find out my wife carries they want to know what she carries. A 25, a 32? When I tell them a 357 they immediately say, "Oh she loads it with 38's". No, and those aren't soft handloads. They are handloads, but that's a 125gr bullet that chronies right at 1350fps. I'm man enough to admit that 50 of those is about all I care for at one sitting but they sure are fun.

One of my first wife's faves was a Ruger SBH .44 magnum. She weighed 110 lbs soaking wet. My step daughter would repeatedly fire both barrels on a 12 gauge SXS with no recoil pad and slam fire a Winchester 97 with no pad when she was 14.

I noticed that all the replies on this were the men telling what their girlfriends/ wives liked or did not mind. I am an old man and I would not shoot a lot of those if you paid me to, and probably would not enjoy any of them.

Everyone I know who likes the big thumpers says it is about how you hold the gun to take the recoil, including a guy with a 500 SW and 45-70 BFR firing near full power loads. Some strong guys try to manhandle and take the recoil all wrong.
Watch guys and gals learn to kayak. Women will learn to paddle correctly(using back) in an hour or less. Men will try to use their arm muscles until they are exhausted than an hour more.

Exactly right...

My Wife used to shoot my Contender 10" Hunter in .45-70 with my 350 grain hunting loads...

My girl has her own officer's-size .45 ACP...and keeps dropping hints that she wants a Wilson 10mm. I can't even hand her a 9mm - she has no interest. A recoil junkie for sure!

Absolutely.
Unless you’re a nitwit like a neighbor that took his wife out for the first time shooting and handed her a S&W 19 with mags.
She dropped the gun 1st round and he got mad. Came to me and said that she was stupid and couldn’t handle an easy gun like the 19. He asked me to take her out shooting. Heck a 19 with factory grips hurts my hand.
One range visit with a Ruger MK11.
The second from a 380 to a Gold cup 45.
Guess what,,, she could out shoot him in two range sessions.
Yea he was a jerk, she divorced him less than a year later and married my best friend.
Personally I find women can be very good shooters for one main reason, the macho bull doesn’t get in the way.
And (you guys are going to hate this) THEY LISTEN BETTER.

Recoil is mostly mental. It is not a gender problem.

I knew State Trooper whose wife carried his S&W 29 4". She shot the Q course with us using mag loads. Posted the 4th best score.

I knew a male former world rapid fire Champion who fell apart when required to fire 45 hardball. It was a great feeling to stomp that pompous arse.

Wonderful for the lasdies shooting the big boomers.

NEVER had her the 44 loudenboomer magnum and tell her it dont kick. Could be very dangerous for all on the range and the gun could be damaged when it flies out of her hand.

Start em on a 22LR.

We recently took a friend's daughter shooting. She wanted to learn to handle handguns and we got to a convenient time and were able to spend a couple of hours giving her some quality instruction. We started with a Browning .22LR pistol, then progressed to a variety of .38 Special revolvers. At the end of the session, I asked her if she'd like to try my Ruger Super Blackhawk.

She did fine with it. I have noticed though, that when young ladies try the big revolver, after the first shot, I hear this insane giggle. It's almost un-nerving, but then they thumb the hammer back and run the rest of the cylinder.

Watched my lady shoot my old .357 S&W I-frame multiple times, and the in-law's .44 Ruger (I think I haven't seen that pistol in a long time) a handful of times. And she wasn't half bad with it.
