XD Mod 2 in 45 acp.

"Out of curiosity what makes the XDS more difficult to tap rack bang than other itty bitty autos."

The gun must be racked very aggressively or you risk a three point jam. On a nice calm range it's not a problem but when under the gun (timer) it's difficult to do perfectly. It's a combination of a stout recoil spring and short slide travel. I'm strong and experienced, I don't baby guns but it was just another element of the design I'd rather not deal with.

A G36 is just a little bigger but very forgiving of using a less than perfect form. I'm not trying to step on toes here, lots of experienced people love those little guns, they just don't work for me.

My problems with Springfield in general stem from the lack of CS I encountered with the light strikes caused by inertial feed problems. The solution lay in the mag spring rate. I spoke with Wolf at length about that and they were nice enough to send me some free springs to modify and experiment with and Wolff didn't even have a dog in the fight.
 
Yes thanks for the answer. Always good to store these tidbits in the back of the head in case something comes up with something down the road.
