XD/Glock/MP = Toyota/Honda/Casio GShock. 1911 = Mercedes/BMW/Rolex? True?

I have a couple of 1911's that have been solid performers...and I depend on a 1911 for my primary carry gun..../ so no, your comparison is not fair.

I agree the German cars have all kinds of issues...that's why I drive a Lexus ..:D ......
 
The Casio doesn't fit in my view. Many inexpensive electronic watches will suffer module failure, the guts of the watch. You'll know when the replacement battery dies within days or doesn't hold a charge well. Some kind of internal short. They usually last around 1-3 yrs, than simply trash it.
 
You can find 1911s that are not bad for around $400 these days although these RIAs were only about $300 each when I bought them several years ago.



Granted the 1911 I carry is not Pretty. Still for me a 1911 makes sense as I have been shooting them a lot for over 50 years (not THAT old as I started when I was 9) and am very used to them.



I don't even wear a watch anymore since I am usually working on a puter which is synced to a time server or carrying a smartphone that is also synced to a time server.
 
Fun comparison jackstrawlll. Believe it or not I've had some great dodges over the years but I got a good laugh with your ability to match those brands so well.
