X-men rant

The FF movie is an unwatchable POS. To give you some idea, they are actually the FF for about 10 minutes of the movie. Their spaceship doesn't even leave earth until the last 20 minutes, and then gets hit by the radiation. And then it is over. It really is crap.

However, X-men was terrific!
Thank God!

RCS - How did you score a peep at the FF bootleg?

BTW: I was down at Yoke's (local grocery/video store) and they actually had a copy of "Carnosaur"!

One mo' thing - I lived in Tucson until seven weeks ago. I miss my paycheck but not the heat and the monsoons. Where do you shoot there - Pima Pistol Club??

Well, saw it this weekend. Liked it alot. Guy who played wolverine did a GREAT job - nailed it. The senator pushing for mutant registration even relates it to gun registration and guns in schools :D
BTW, my rant was on the fox behind the scene special... the movie was not PC, and had people of all races calling for anti mutant laws.

Actually, it is going to be a TV series on Fox. The downside is that Fox could not get the rights to use certain of the characters such as American Maid and Die Fledermaus who were created for the animated series. (It seems that the people involved with the animated series still hold a grudge against Fox.)

Saw it Friday - it rocked!!!!
Gonna see it again!

Rumor has it that "mankind" (not the wrestler) is going to be the big villain for the next film. Sentinals, anyone?

BTW, there are only bootlegs of that Fantastic Four movie available because it was simply so bad that they never even released it to videotape! How bad is that? I don't want to see it!

Also in the works for Xmas 2001, I believe, is a big-budget Spider-Man directed by Sam Rsimi. He's a big fan of the character, so I'm betting it will be awesome!!!!

Idaho Mike-

A local comic shop had a copy of the FF movie that I saw.

All the shooting I do is wildcat- i.e I go out in the desert to a place where there is a good backstop. It's perfectly legal, as long as you are a 1/4 mile away from buildings and roads. Thje particular place I go has been used for this purpose for years.

who should be Sewer Urchin?

Ta hell with Sewer Urchin, I wanna know who's gonna play El Seed! :D

One of the cars in the MCI parking lot has a Tick sticker (s-ticker?) on its rear window. Makes me grin every time I see it.

I'm going to dissent and say that it was pretty boring and the story was lame. Beginning was cool, and Wolverine was done well, but the rest of them were a bunch of dorks. I like the comic books much better. Oh well.

The part I *really* liked was when the anti-mutant senator was trying to convince another legicritter on the phone to support the "mutant registration bill".

His argument went something like:

"Sir, you support gun control - can't you see that these mutants represent at least 10x the destructive force of any handgun?"

This is a GOOD, small, subtle-as-hell pro-RKBA message.

Turn it around. Imagine asking somebody whether or not they'd be bigoted against somebody more powerful than they are. If they say "no", you get to lay down your CCW permit on the table and say "OK, let's see if you mean that - read that card".

Cool, no?

Jim

I agree that all the other characters were weak. Luckily, it doesn't matter a bit as far as I'm concerned, 'cause all I care about is Logan. As long as they get Logan (and the other characters' relationships with Logan) right, that's all I need. :D

"Relax, it's me!"
"How do we know it's really you?"
"You're a dick."
"Ok, let's go."
