To say I am looking forward to this movie is an understatement. However, when I was watching the Fox behind the scene .. Uh thingy.. I noticed that Hmmm, the senators who hated the mutants were...White repubs. Who was defendeing the mutants... Yep, black Dem and oriental female dem. Ay-Bleepin-Ya. Friggin PC crap!!!. Already some of my enthusiasm has faded. Fricking frackin bleepin frackers. Bastiches.
Ahem ... Sorry about the harsh language, but I'm ticked. Still going to see the movie though, BUB!

Larry Flynt is right. You guys stink!!!

Well, the X-Men has always been a story about discrimination and xenophobia for as long as I've followed it (which hasn't really been all that long, I guess.) I agree that it would have been more fair to have at least a few white folks not be demons, and at least a few blacks and orientals could have discriminated, too (like real life.) But it's a minor thing in a minor, eye-candy movie. I'll probably go eventually just to see what they did to Wolverine, but the previews make me wonder. If they messed with Logan, THEN I'll be pissed. ;)

I'm sure they pc'd the hell out of Logan. And yes, that will piss me off real bad too.

I know I will hate this movie. I had every issue from 1 to 90 when my house burned on my 17th birthday. With all the hype, I gotta know they butchered it and it's a dog. Still a must see though.

I'm seeing it this afternoon - I'll let you know.

But the reviews I've read sound real good...

Think about it this way - replace "mutant" with "gun-owner" when you see the scenes of all the scared sheeple with signs...

X Men was a very entertaining movie...good SFX, good dialogue, and Hugh Jackman was an EXCELLENT Wolverine. Not PCed at all. BTW, although the bad guy was white, I didn't notice any "good" politicians spotlighted of any race...and if you notice, Xavier, Cyclops, and Wolverine are all "white males."
I think you're being a bit too...sensitive.
:D

Old fart that I am, I remember having issue #1 in my comic collection. My sons still read 'em and yes I do borrow their copy. We'll probably see it this weekend.
BTW: where the hell is Beast?

You mean theres no Beast in the movie? He is my favorite, whats up with that. (Read lots of comic books when I was a teenager).

I can't believe I'm about to post this.

Correia and Grayfox, you're thinking of the original team of X-Men, the movie is an adaptation of the second team. Beast had sprouted blue fur and went on to join the Avengers by the time this team got put together.

I was pleasantly surprised by the movie: Marvel isn't known for astounding success converting it's comics to the big screen. Or the small one, for that matter.

I'm given to understand that all the actors are contracted for two sequels to this movie. There are rumours that the Phoenix/Dark Phoenix storyline will be the basis for the sequels.

I'm certainly looking forward to seeing it; I've got every issue up to the point, a few years back, (A little after they moved to the outback.) where I switched to reading Manga. Got just too depressing for me, no "comic" in the book anymore.

Gotta agree that Marvel has had terrible luck with film and tv adaptations, which is kind of ironic when you consider that they've got the better characters to work with.

Suppose there's any chance of a Punisher movie? Now, THAT would go over well with this crowd! A guy with no super-powers, just LOTS of real-world guns, and a bad attitude, who's a fantastic shot because, get this, he PRACTICES A LOT.

I can vouch for the crappiness of "The Punisher." What a dog.

Anybody remember "The Tick?" It was the funniest cartoon around for years. One of the other superheroes was a version of the Punisher. That guy had issues. He wore a toybox strapped to his back full of ammo belts and was often known simply to spray the room until the ammo ran out, then cry out, with tears streaming, "Why didn't you love me, mommy?"

Don,
The Tick Movie is either just starting, or is actually in production right now.
The Tick is played by the big unemotional guy who was Elaine's boyfriend on Seinfield and the Forest ranger in the Cadillac computer controlled suspension commercials.

I hope to god that they do the story justice; it's probably the funniest cartoon/comic in the past 20 yrs.

SPOOOOOOOOON!!!!!! :D

YES!
That's the best news I've heard all day! And that guy is the perfect choice. Come to think of it, Jason Alexander would be a great Arthur. How about Lucy Lawless as American Maid, Val Kilmer as Der Fleidermauss (IF he can be taught to play a character other than Jim Morrison for this one) and who should be Sewer Urchin?
This is cool.

Tony,

There was a Fantastic Four movie - sort of.

The people that had the FF movie rights had to produce a "feature" by a certain date, or lose their options. So they hired cheap director Roger Corman to make an inexpensive movie, all the while never intending to release it to theaters.

For a while, it was going to be released "straight-to-video," and you can see the trailer for it on the Coming Attractions part of the "Carnosaur" video (if you can find "Carnosaur" itself).

I have heard there are bootleg copies of the FF movie floating around, but it's probably an unwatchable POS.
