WWB ammo no good???

WWB 9 and 45 has worked just fine for me through many matches.

I had a similar experience when I went to an Academy for Blazer Al on sale. They were out and the clerk gave me crap for wanting some. That made me angry enough to find the manager.

I have had some troubles with Russian stuff. Dud rounds. Maybe 2 in 100.

This is so weird because my husband and I were wondering why there would possibly be bullet holes in the wall behind the booth. Also, that day they were replacing the flooring. Carpet all torn up. Maybe that's part of the reason everyone there was being so rude to us:(

I am not sure PMC is any better.
PMC is cleaner, I shoot PMC the most. I buy from my LGS and they sell PMC/Lawman Speer/America Eagle. I really like lawman but its not always in stock.

Now 380 tula I have had like 2-3 FTF in 1 box.

In this bag of PMC 30 Carb. brass all of them have off center flash holes. The single brass pic. is a common example in this batch. The 5 brass pic. is just 5 random brass pulled from the bag.

I won't bother you with the other details about the original ammo but Poongsan Metal Corp. has had their issues with QC in the past. The shame is that there is a lot of bad info being fed to unsuspecting consumers from the other side of the counter.

Nothing wrong with WWB. It's target/practice ammo. The only issue that I have ever run into with this ammo is that its overall length can cause problems in some magazines. WWB 9mm FMJ rounds are longer than most every other cartridge and won't feed properly in some of my guns - but hey - that's just my experience.

janieoakley,

I agree with the others that it's all 'bunk' that their trying to feed you. WWB is fine for practice. End of story in my book.

-Cheers

I am amazed at the passionate outpouring of support for the humble Winchester White Box round.

I'll add my voice to the cause - perfectly fine practice ammo, especially attractive because it's inexpensive and widely available at discount stores.

I agree with the rest that the uncouth range personnel were probably just badmouthing it so they could sell you something else.

To be honest, I shoot WWB because it's cheap, not because it's better than the other stuff on the market. But I wouldn't keep shooting it, regardless of the price, if it didn't perform adequately.

I'm not so much a fan of WWB as I am irritated about unethical merchants who lie to try to increase their sales.

I've shot a few thousand rounds of WWB in 9mm and .45 acp. Never had an issue with them. Now if Winchester would make inexpensive WWB in .44 Special, I would be very happy.

Don't listen to me.

More than just a few times I've seen top competitors zero their Match 9mm handguns with WWB ammo at 50 yards. Stock WWB ammo in the right gun is capable of producing scores that can win the Bianchi Cup.

The rest is up to the Nut-Behide-the Butt.

If money wasn't an issue, I'd use Federal American Eagle exclusively.

That said, money is an issue, and I've has just fine luck with the. ~300 rounds of .40 and ~500 rounds of 9mm WWB I have used.

2nd on LockedBreech.
Has red boxed Federal Ammo ever failed? Not me. WWB too. Always good to me.

I remember when, I won't say his name, came out with the 1st super-duper production custom 1911...(pre internet days). He came out with a list of factory rounds that you were not supposed to use in this highly custom rugged and reliable go to war 1911 save your life .45acp. And Federal 230 grain FMJs were on the list!
I don't think he ever recovered from that mistake.

Of course they told you that. Back when I sold boats, I told people Cajun's were better than Rangers too.

They were. For me. I got paid to sell them.
