Would you vote for Newt?

He was leading the charge in trying to get rid of B. Clinton over his "sexcapades" and now it turns out that Gingrich has been doing the very same thing.

NO!

Sorry

Free speech, heck, what I think I can’t even print here!

I would give up ten pounds of free speech for an ounce of gun-grabbing prevention and Newt I trust little but more than the other jerks, particularly that jerk from NYC and the “lady” from the state senate!

Besides, Reagen was too liberal for me, I was a Taft man

Between his leading the effort against Clinton (who I happen to detest) for extramarital affairs all the while engaging in his own extramarital affairs (hypocrite), and his stance on healthcare issues (health care socialism) -- No Way would I vote for him.

Newt said that we will have a greater degree of "supervision" in referring to free speech. Who will be doing that supervision. Him and his buddies? Degrading the RIGHTS we are guaranteed by the constitution is the road to authoritarianism. Government cannot grant rights, government can only restrict them. Only you can fight for yours, not any professional politician. Newt is no different than any other professional politician. He looks out for himself, no matter the cost to the electorate. Money is power and people like Newt, Bill, Harry, Hillary, etc. need power like the rest of us need air. Fact is, our system is not working as well as it could. I don't know how to change it, or how it should be changed. But I know it needs changing. Our leaders should be acting in our best interests, not their own. How can we expect people to act selflessly when we give them access to almost unlimited money and power? "Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely". How can we assure that power is reserved for our government while protecting the people in government from the corrupting influences. Do we elect Saints? Quandary.

There's no quandary to it. If you want to limit the 1st Amendment or any part of the BOR, you shouldn't be elected to a public office. We need less government restriction on our freedom, not more.

Newt, are you kidding? I'm not saint, but the spin that his affair was different from Clinton's affair is incredible. Especially when put into position that Newt was having his affair as he was trying to lead impeachment against Clinton.

Breathtaking hypocrisy aside

--He a member of the good ol' boys network that rules Washington. We do not need more of the same. He may be engaging in speech and eloquent in expression but his ideas come from the same bars and restaurants

--If he will do it (multiple times) to the person closest to him in this world, he will not hesitate to do it to me.

Sorry, I just can't take the chance. As I go through life I've learned there are some personalities you want in front of you, not at your side or your back. I want Newt where I can see him.

Not just no, but HELL NO!

His desire to destroy our Constitutional rights has already been mentioned several times in this thread.

Character's another issue. Newt's the guy who served his first wife (who was also his former high school geometry teacher  ) with divorce papers while she was in the hospital, pumped full of drugs, recovering from uterine cancer surgery. After the divorce, he didn't pay any alimony or child support, and her church had to take up a collection to support her.

Newt Gingrich is a vile sociopath. Anyone but Newt!!!

Sasquatch -

Great name by the way, wish I'd thought of it first. :)

PERJURY was really just a code word for POLITICAL SMEAR CAMPAIGN led by Newt and the rest of his toads.

Either way, neither of us is voting for him.
