Would you trade?

I ended up trading for the HK USP compact .40S&W with holster and some cash. I think it is a fair trade. And I'm pretty exciting about having a compact/midsized pistol to ccw

My wife is a little miffed that I'm going to trade off "her" beautiful beautiful pistol. And I can't say that I won't miss this big beautiful pistol either.

I mean your Holster, may be better. But Definitly Trade for the H&K. You can never go wrong witn an H&K. There a great Company. Personally my Favorite Gun Brand.

You did OK

If you got a total of around $750 in trade combining the value of the HK, Holter, and some cash, I think you probably came out OK on the deal, that is a nice looking 29, and I would imagine it is worth about that.
The only thing that really matters is if YOU feel you made a good trade.
I can say that if your goal was to aquire a good SD gun, you achieved your goal.

Risky business, your wife is ticked, and you are already missing it, in trade for a new toy, different class of pistol entirely.

I wish you the enjoyment of a good handgun, lots of folks say the HK is, I can't say from personal experience. The only one I've seen up close in use was in the hands of a gentleman in a suit and tie, at the outdoor range, in high summer. Had a whole little suitcase full of gadgets for his gun. Wasn't at all interested in chatting with the fellow in jeans and t-shirt shooting a balky .44 Auto Mag three empty benches down, during cold range time.

And his groups, at about 10yds were twice the size of mine at 25yds.:D

to each his own, right?

I think it's a good trade since the H&K Compact has higher utility than the 29. You get 8+1 instead of 6 and the H&K is great for concealed carry as well. My H&K .45C is a great car gun. You're the best judge to determine if you'll miss the Smith when it's gone. I sold a beautiful mod. 25-5 (45 Long Colt) two years ago and haven't missed it at all. As we get older one has to ask what we want vs what we will keep and enjoy. After I sold the 25-5, I bought another AK.

Yeah, it really is about utility. The only CCWs I have right now are a Keltec P3AT and a S&W stainless j frame in 357. So I'd like to have a mid sized pistol for ccw. I think the USPc is a good candidate for shoulder holster carry, though I may try IWB as well. I'm happy with the deal and I don't think I'll regret it down the line.
