But what I have seen of wild horses was a corral full of BLM captures. You couldn't GIVE me one of those brumby nags, much less sell me one.
Although I'll admit that most wild horses aren't the best looking animal (I've seen lots of em when working in the WY oil patch) they can be very good horses if you get a good one and if it was "broken" gently. The Wyoming state pen. honor farm breaks them gently now (used to do it the old fashioned way) so I bet some good horses come out of there.
Also, the BLM adoption program has pretty specific corral/shelter requirements to avoid the situation reloader28 describes.
