Would this enhance or hinder value of an S&W?

I personally, like many others, would rather have a S&W version of a "cheapo" than a deluxe Taurus or Ruger. As many of you know, I prefer S&W over Colt as well and I have plenty of both. Many people actually think that 28s are diamonds in the rough because even though the superficial things were cheaper, they were still great designs, with great quality put into them.

I agree. Calling a Model 28 'cheapo' is ridiculous! My model 28 won't win any beauty contests but who ever worked over its insides knew who to make that gun a shooter. The DA pull is fantastic! There is nothing 'cheap about the actual craftsmanship of the firearm save for the matte finish. And it is still a great looking matte finish at that!
