Would anyone like to see a P99 Sub compact???

I would ......... I love my G26 and other pistols of that size I tend
to lean toward pistols based on, can I conceal it easily. I think a sub 99 would fill that want.

To answer your question...No.

I didn't much like the full-size, so I wouldn't expect that I would be to impressed with a compact either.

My full size P99 is so easy to use and conceal, I don't think I would have much use for it myself. However, I can see a nitch for it in the scheme of things. ;)

Instead of a sub-compact, I would like to see a compact version of the P99 in 9mmx19 and .40S&W.
I feel that come the warmer months, my P99 may not be the easiest handgun to conceal with light clothing.
If that's the case, I will reluctantly go back to my G27 for daily carry. :(

I wrote Walther sometime ago. It took about 2 weeks, but finally got response. They are working on a SUBCOMPACT!! Don't have any other details.

Short answer: Hellz, yeah, but it depends on what it feels like, and how it shoots. The 'full' size P99 is a tough act to follow.

I agree with JMC... I would like to see a Walther P99Compact, that is to the P99 what the Glock 19 is to the 17. Make a subcompact too, to make everyone happy, but PLEASE don't make one with a grip so short I can't get my pinkie on it!!!

I'd like to see one that held 8 or 9 rounds. Slightly bigger (wider grip for more rounds) than the Kahr P and K series.

Definitely.. as said in a previous thread, a compact P99 would put Walther in an even stronger position to challenge Glock's market share. The P99 although being slim felt chunky in my waist. I suspect this to be because of the large trigger guard which gave the gun a blockish feel.

Count me in, I agree with JMC. One about the size of a G19 would be perfect. That extra inch or so for the spacer on the 10rd mags could go away and still have plenty of grip.

It would make a great compliment to the full size P99. I would be one of the first in line.

Exactly. The present gun, as we all know, is sized for a 16 round version in the 9mmx19.
And while they're at it, cut 3/4" off the barrel/slide. That would make a perfect carry gun using the P99 consept.

BTW, I'll have my third P99 early next week. Another 9mmx19 in the military version.

I'm not sure I would buy one. One of the selling points for me with my P99 was the grip. If they shortened it, it would not fit in my hand well.

They're going to make one!:D

Check the reports by JeffOTMG from here on the forum at Shot Show Reports .

No pictures but coming to a gunshop near you this summer! Described as close in size to a PPK. This should put in G19 to G26 range. Sleeved extension to accomodate different length mags, hand sizes.

A compact version of the P99 is at the show, but they are keeping it under wraps. I am trying to get a picture of it, but they won’t even let me see it, the rat bastards. They are showing it to the media, but I don’t count. The pistol is about the size of a PPK/S only thicker. The grip frame is extremely short and uses a sleeved magazine to act as a finger extension. Sounds like the part used on a Glock 23 mag so you can use it in a Glock 27 and get a full grip. The advantage is that you can get a couple of different length magazines to change the size of the pistol grip depending on how you were going to carry it. It is scheduled for release this summer.

I thought the current P99 is the size of a Glock 19 (or at least it is the size of my Glock 23). Not sure I'd buy one, as the P99 is really the perfect size, but if it was ankle gun carry size, I might have to make an exception. Always like the variety of choices, though.

I carry a P99 every day and consider it the perfect concealed carry weapon, so I have no desire, and would not buy a compact version of the P99. What I WOULD like to see from Walther is a P-something chambered in .45 ACP.....now THAT'S something I would purchase immediately. ........Dan in GA

I really wonder how many of the P99 bashers have owned/shot/held one? I guess I'm lucky, I've got a safe full of guns and I like them all.
