Boy, you guys want to hear "WORST LAWS" you should see whats in store for us up here in the Kingdom of Canada. ALL handguns are registered and have been since 1934. A special permit is required to even take it out of your residence for ANY reason. They must be stored in a LOCKED container and stored UNABLE to be fired by means of a locking device. The ONLY place they can be legaly fired is at a Government Approved Range. I dont know of any ranges that are officially approved under the new laws (bill c68) that came into effect last Dec 31.
And get this.... handguns with barrels less then 105 mm in length... they just banned them, some folks can still have them, but they can only be transfered among those that are grandfathered. Sorta killed the market for defensive firearms. But that doesnt matter cause if you were to use a firearm in a self defense situation up here, YOU WOULD GO TO JAIL
Since 1978, to be able to BUY a firearm, any firearm, all us subjects have been required to have a Firearms Acquistion Certificate. Getting a FAC required a background check, firearm safety course, and a 28 day waiting period, these FACs were administered by the RCMP and took way longer than 28 days to get.
Now since bill c68, we need a POL (Possession Only Licence)at a cost of 45 dollars for 5 years, just to own a firearm and to buy ammo, and we need a PAL (Possession and Aqusistion Licence) at a cost of 60 bucks for 5 years. The form I filled out to get my PAL was 4 pages long and 60 questions, it required 3 referances, permission from my spouse and all spouses or significant others from the last 2 years.
But wait... theres more...
If we didn't have a valid FAC from at least 1995, we needed to take another GOVERNMENT approved firearms safety course, for long guns, and an additional course for restricted (handguns and evil assault rifles) firearms. These courses would cost about 200 to 300 bucks and I think take at least 16 hours for each course. I was lucky cause I've had the joy of being licenced since 78, so I missed all that fun.
Keep in mind that this is just to OWN or BUY a firearm.
It gets even better,
If you own 3 restricted/prohibited firearms, and/or more than 10 firearms in total, we get blessed with a "special" status that allows a "firearms inspection officer"
(Were from the Government, were here to help)
to appear at your door and demand to inspect the firearms, zee paperwerk, and the storage facilities. Your refusal is grounds for an immediate warrant to be issued and they can forcibly enter your home and seize and inspect pretty much what they want.
I could rant on about this 600 million dollar fiasco, that so far has licenced about 500,000 out of an estimated 2 million, and registered 350,000 out of an estimated 6 to 8 million firearms, but go see for yourself at:

Don't let this happen to you guys.....
PS..
Any one in the western border states wanna setup an adopt a handgun plan? Cause the chance of me ever turning them in will be slim to none. Idaho sounds like a nice home for them. I could still get down and visit them....
(just kidding for NOW)
