WORLD'S SLIMMEST REVOLVER! Century Arms 38-3

Info -

With a frame constructed of 7075-T651, the concealed hammer double-action only MDL is just under 1-inch thick with an unloaded weight of 14.5-ounces. The barrel is mounted below the ejector rod, like a Rhino revolver, with the 3-chamber cylinder flattened on the left side and a single cylinder flute on the right. No matter how you slice it, this new revolver is certainly unlike anything else on the market.

I contacted CAI on their Face Book page. There is no release date as of yet. I kinda feel it may be a vapor gun? I will buy one if and when for the collection.

interesting design but if I want "thinner" - I'll switch to a semi with more rounds than my Model 36 - not less. But to each their own . . . if this does get off the found, I have to think that it will be a great collector's item for our grandchildren 100 years from now as they will be "rare and scarce".

I'm not knocking the OP or his desire to learn about it or even own one - we all have our likes and dislikes. I'm just trying to figure out why a person would want a 3 shot revolver? Yes, it's thinner but so is a 2 shot derringer or a lot of the pocket semis. And let's face it . . . this isn't going to be a "range gun".

In a world of pointless solutions looking for a problem, this one may not rank #1 - but, it's certainly in the top two.

If you want a small revolver in .38 caliber - S&W Model 36 Chief's Special. Far better revolver and it holds two more rounds.

How about adding a semi auto feature too.
A curved Webly Fosbery automatic revolver with a flat sided, 3 round cylinder and clear side plate, and pocket clip chambered in 7.62X25 Tokarev using moon clips!
Now for a name. I think Rube somebody comes to mind.

Imagine how thin you could make a revolver if cartridges were not round? Rectangular shaped ammo could make the gun not much thicker than a credit card. Now how to impart rifling on something like that would require some sort of high-tech engineering that is a bit over my head. :D

my S&W M337 is .3 inches wider 4 ounces LIGHTER and has 60% more rounds. Explain the purpose of this to me again.

If the purpose is BUG, wouldn't it make more sense in 9mm?

Explain the purpose of this to me again.
Marketing to the "new" gun buyer. Most of who haven't got a clue what makes a good SD handgun. They just want the newest, most "modern" design so they can be cutting edge.
Newest XBOX, newest iPhone, latest fashion trend, and now, dumb guns!

Like my NAA Sidewinder. Wish I had got a NAA Ranger. When I get my CAI 38-3 I will post pictures.:)
