Wolf Ammo

I've used both 9x19 and 7.62x39.

9mm - Dirty as hell, lots of flash and smoke, smells funny, very hot load, locked up my SW 5906, and my G19, steel case could be harder on extracter than the softer brass.

7.69 - No problems thru my SKS. Even cheaper than the 9mm and a pleasure to shoot. What a bargain!

Anarchism: The radical notion that I am the sole authority when it comes to deciding what's best for me.

Russian firearms and ammunition were designed around each other. That is why they work so well together.

Day before yesterday, I was shooting steel-cased Wolf .223 out of my friend's Ruger bolt varmint rifle (with his permission - it was his ammo), and the round failed to extract - stuck in there good. And with no cleaning rod at the range with us - well, so much for shooting that gun - on to the 10/22 and the pistols.

I have probably pushed 5000 rounds of Wolf 9mm through my USP and P7. No problems whatsoever.

Actually houndawg, I shot some of the Tula, and it seemed noticeably softer and didn't shoot as low.

I personally DON'T use it. I have tried it and it IS dirty. Steel casings are harder on extractors.
I too have heard about serious problems with Wolf. Considering you can get DMP, S&B etc. for about as cheap, why take the chance. As was mentioned, there ain't that much $$ difference between the inexpensive rounds so why take the chance with a valuable gun using junk. It's not worth the risk. All my shooting friends have backed off from Wolf.

My rahge also prohibits Wolf ammo after a number of pistols and 2 223 rifles were detonated by the stuff... Blew 'em up. A Mini-14 and an Armalite.
Stuff is not just dirty...it's dangerous.

Unrelated to Wolf ammo, but I tried a box of Czech Sellor & Bellot in 40 S&W in a Steyr M40. It would not fire a single round because it would not seat in the chamber correctly. It took hand placing the round into the correct position w/o mag then releasing the slide just to get a single round to fire. The remaining 49 rounds fired fine through a P99 Walther.
