Wohali Riflescopes: Any Opinions?

Alright, before all you Leupold, Zeiss, Nikon, etc... fanboys tell me to save my money and buy one of your scopes, I can not afford them.

Has anyone used the Wohali scopes? Just curious of their clarity and quality. Thanks.

There seem to be a lot of non-familiar brand named scopes and optical equipment out there lately. Some have a Russian sound. Methinks buying an unfamiliar brand would be a pig in the poke deal.

Wohali scopes retail for $100. they are accordingly junk and ya might as well just hand your $100 to a street bum.

Looks like that brand is already defunct, the only retailer is a close-out place. So warranty will be non-existent, and that's what you pay the premium for when you buy the "fanboy" scopes. Even your basic VX-I will be fixed by Leupold 20 years from now.
 
What is a Wohali Scope? Why not just get a Simmons, Tasco, Nitrex, Redfield, BSA? Similarly priced optics with at least some sort of reputation to follow.

Sorry but that thing sound like it was assembled from old pieces of recycled plumbing pipe and coke bottles in a mud hut somewhere in Zimbabwe.

One rule I've learned about optics is that normally and within reason you get what you pay for. Heck, I'd even settle for a Prostaff over that thing and I abhor Nikon's.
 
If you have to buy a low priced scope (and believe me I've been there) I would stick to known brands. I had a Tasco 10-40 on my 204 for several years. It did finally die but it was acceptable for the price for years. Also look to Bushnell and Nikon. Both companies make low-priced products but also high-priced products. Usually, if you make good high-end stuff you also make "decent" low-end stuff.
 
If I wanted to save a few bucks on a scope I would pick a brand that's been around forever, if you do have a problem with it at least you have someone you could call. Have you considered maybe refurbished, or maybe Cabelas bargin cave, worth a looking into.
 
What is your budget?

What magnification do you want?

What will it be used for?

If you can at least give us this info, then we can suggest something IN YOUR PRICE RANGE, that will serve you 1,000% better than some off the wall brand of scope that might last 5 shots before you have to call the company for warranty work, just to find out that they are out of business and you are stuck with a POS scope that you can't give away and wish you had just spend the $$$ on something decent to begin with.

I am a big fan of Simmons and have taken many animals with these scopes, but saw the Wohali scopes on Natchez and was just curious if anyone had used them.

I am in the market for a scope to put on my Rem 700 .223 for coyotes. Natchez has some deals on Simmons and will probably pick one of those up.

You seem a bit edgy about the cost of the scopes most of us prefer. For what it's worth, I've had good luck with older vari-x model leupolds that I purchased off ebay. I have a vari-x II 3-9x40 on a 25-06 & it's a great scope. Adjustments are true and accurate, glass is clear, finish is still in great shape....and I got it for $160 used off fleabay. On this site, we may not agree on the leupold vs nikon vs sightron vs burris vs zeiss (lower end) vs ________, but we all do agree that quality optics can make a rifle much more enjoyable to shoot.
Instead of buying the first $100 scope that comes along, take a little time and peruse some of the sales going on. Throw another fifty bucks in with that $100 and you can get into a much nicer scope by catching some sales. Just for example, Bushnell elite 3200's in 3-9x40 are on sale right now through midway for $140. If you want a little more magnification, nikon prostaff 4-12x40's are also on sale for $165.
That's my $0.02 so best of luck and have a little patience.
 
Wohali were only founded recently & have their product range manufactured in China. Their high range variable scopes are for sale for under $100.
If you want to buy a cheap scope at least buy one from a company that has been manufacturing scopes for a number of years. I would buy a Tasco before Id consider purchasing any of the scopes offered by newly founded companies that have their manufacturing base in China.
 
The OP asked if anyone have used one before. If you don't have first hand knowledge, why the bashing?

Lg_mouth, I've seen one on another person's rifle at the range next to me. Looks like any other "no-name" scope to me, solid and heavy. The guy had it mounted on a .223 and it held zero fine as far as I can tell. His groupings were good and he was satisfied with it. He put about 40 rounds downrange and since the .223 isn't much of a kicker, it didn't seem to the affect the scope at all. For $50, why not.
 
Yeah, I'd go with a brand name scope instead. You can get the Nikon Prostaff 3-9x40's on sale right now for $100. While it's not my favorite scope in the world, it's a good scope for $100. You can also get a Simmons White Tail Classic from Natchez for like $60 or similar which is another decent option. Heck, I'd buy a Tasco from Walmart before a scope I'd never heard of.
 
Nikon Prostaffs arent much more than the $100 you were willing to spend on that junk and you will get a lot more out of a prostaff. Just words of advice but buy the Prostaff you wont be disappointed even if it takes a couple more months to save up for it. They are very nicely priced on manventureoutpost.com check it out
 
Ive always let others do the purchacing of new products and wait a few years before buying into them. Since I have never heard the name before, I personally wouldnt purchace one. That dosnt mean the it is a bad product, I am just very cautious of anything new. From what I can see, no one seems to own one to give you a report at this time.
