Try to take away my gun...and you will see my 2nd Amendment Right in ACTION!!! -Me

The laws that forbid the carrying of arms are laws of such a nature. They disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crime. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." A thought about those little pieces of paper, and why there's such a big difference...

When I went in the place, and voted, I made DARN SURE that I punched the little pin in the correct hole, and just to be sure, I punched it a few more times. Felt sorta good. I also noted which little number was written on the ballot thingie, and checked the ballot after I pulled it out, and darned if it didn't correspond to the hole I'd punched out. My little paper thingie was definitely gone, and I felt very good about it.

I suspect that I wasn't alone in my actions. I'd venture that a lot of Bush voters (note that I do not say "republicans" - I'm not one) drove that pin home a few times, just to be sure... Likewise, I'd venture that more than a few democrats just sorta punched it once, and went on...

I was confused how they got from 341 to 359 without having any county report. It looks like Lake county's numbers (probably as reported by the AP) were updated from:

Gore -2 Bush +11
to
Gore +16 Bush +47

A gain of 18 votes for Bush :)

Anyone have any info on want happened with Lake. Just a reporting error or a second recount like Pinellas (the county that found 400 more votes that weren't counted the first time !!!)

Isn't this grand?

After the incredible blunder, (some might say collusion between the netwroks and the Clinton crime machine) of announcing Florida results early to hurt GWB's chances across the country, the State of Florida is now counting results again.

Tonight, after watching the networks AGAIN posting numbers that are NOT official, the Secretary of State in Florida came out and announced THE OFFICIAL numbers, and everyone was amazed that the lead was still just as big as before, (even though all day we have been told that recounts usually only impact slightly.)

(For best effect it's good to remember at this time that GWB, whose BROTHER is the governor of said state, is acting like he won, even announcing yesterday that HE accepted the vote total, and expected the recount to be the same or very, very close.)

Buckle your seat belts......

The only numbers that count are the ones from the State, NOT AP OR VNS....starting to see where this is going?

Florida and the Bush's are getting even with the netwroks by allowing their people to "suggest" what the numbers might be and once again, the networks, who haven't learned a damn thing, are releasing UNOFFICIAL numbers.

You Watch.

The real numbers are going to be almost exactly as expected and these news services are going to look like fools for years to come.....

I think the expression is: Payback's a bitch....

Minor mathematical errors have caused the canvassing board of Seminole County to recount by hand every one of 137,350 ballots cast on Tuesday.

Seminole County election personnel spent all night Wednesday recounting ballots.

Mathematical mistakes were found in 52 of the county's 133 precincts.

At first, the county decided to recount only the ballots with discrepancies, but representatives of the Republican and Democratic party objected.

In one precinct, there were 1,350 available voters and 986 votes were cast. However an election worker wrote that more than 3,000 ballots were used.

"It was a long day and at the end of the day it was just a matter of not properly filling out the bottom of the ballot accounting form," Seminole County election supervisor Sandy Gordon said.

Another problem popped up Thursday that could affect the vote tally.

Gordon said that there may be a vote difference in one precinct because of a faulty computer memory card that corrupted before they were able to feed all the ballots through the system.

One worker said that the discrepancy could amount to a 30 vote difference.
