Wisconsin doesn't need law allowing its residents to carry concealed weapons

It's too bad it doesn't matter what you think about it, because its an inalienable right that is enumerated in our constitution. I'm not sure why so many anti-gun people feel it is ok to ignore this.

They don't ignore it...

They think it's obsolete and archaic...

They want to destroy it but they can't openly admit this in their present position...

That's why I say they are dishonest and that's why I despise them. :barf:

This is a way I could relate CCW to the officers life.

Imagine having your wife walk through the ghetto's at night by herself from a late nights work. Would you feel comfortable with this? As mentioned previously, pepper spray would be a good defense but isn't always effective since you have to be close in to use it, maybe 10ft, and it will not always deter a criminal.

Alot of states mention that crime rates are low so they don't need CCW laws, basically if it ain't broke don't fix it. However unless your crime rate is ZERO right now, it can always be improved. The letter implies that CCW holders increase the crime rate, but do they have any reports and data of CCW related crime to back that up?

Finally, this is what my police department had to say today about a string of rapes occuring here: "As much as we like to be proactive, sometimes we are reactive." I would not be confident the police would prevent my loved ones from being raped.

The government of this land is not here to "allow" us to exercise freedoms. We allow the government to exist. If a freedom is curtailed, it has to be for a reason.

I fear that many many American citizens feel that their rights are granted to them at the pleasure of the government -- not that the People give the government 100% of its power to do anything.

Somehow, the concept of which entity is answerable to which got totally turned around, and now people think that the government is in charge, and we have to do what it says. The more people come to believe this way, the further down we will slide as a society; and I wonder if we have not already gone too far down that road.
