winchester 1866's

Is anyone else troubled that a person with such a valuable collection doesnt even know what those rifles are? I'm sure curious how exactly they were aquired.

Not particularly, and I don't think we need to make a big issue of it.

I made a mistake posting a thread for a pistol in the rifle forum i am sorry as i now know that's a no no. Also there are a great many things i may not know, but i assure you one thing, i am humble enough to ask those who do. THE ONLY DATES ON THE BARRELS WERE 1860&1866 I REALIZE THOSE ARE JUST PATENT DATES, BUT THOUGHT THAT THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN ONE NEWER AND THANKS FOR NEARLY ALL OF THE HELP EVERYONE. I ALSO HAVE AROUND 100 WEAPONS RANGING FROM 1730 TILL CURRENT DAY AND HOPE I CAN TALK MORE ABOUT THE INTERESTING ONES AS SOON AS I LEARN TO TYPE WITH MORE THAN 1 FINGER!

Some good guns in there along with the Winchesters.

There are a couple of what look like Spencers or Sharps rifles of Civil War vintage.

A couple Carbines, at least 1 Garand, at least 1 1903, and at least one Remington 8 or 81.

Also looks like a Remington semi-auto shotgun.

it is very cold here now but first chance i get i will take some of the most interesting ones outside and get some good available light shots. that model 8 has no equal in my opinion, and that includes the garand.

You have some wonderful iron there. Thank you for showing it to us. What is it about that lovely Model 8 that has captured you so?

i used to sneak it out to deer hunt when i was in school and could hit almost anything, almost like shooting a 22 speedmaster. all good things ended when i ran out of ammo and asked my father if he had anymore, he was not happy!
