Will we have (legally) guns in 2100?

Personally, I'm a bit more concerned with 2001 than 2100.
One thing at a time, my friends. I'm also glad that someone has the "Ballz" to face facts ;). In a nutshell; "Hold on, here we go"- Dakotan

Will we have guns legally in 2100?

I dunno, probably not, if the current damages of rust, and cancerous growths are allowed to breed in the armory, or your own gun safe.

We have a President, who as a dissident himself (marching in Moscow, whil NOT huffin' weed), who leads us into the breach. We're distrustful wih anyone who advocates we completely trust the militarize LEO's with our lives and property. We have a 2nd incommand who's made it known he doesn't think private ownership of land is a good thing, i.e. a Socialist at heart.

We have Senators, & Reps everywhere scurrying to where the the loudest lobbyists are, (read, BIG BUCKS). How very true.
Considering what happened to George Harrison should be a grim reminder to all the perils of placing your security solely with mercenaries. I'm not saying his bodyguards were mercenaries, only in principle.

By the year 2020, I suspect firearms wil only vaguely resemble ours of today. Composite everything, including the barrels. Powders and primers will be obsolete. Ignition will be plasma discharge, with a highly flamable gas as the propulsion agent. Or likely, the rail gun technology will be adequately reduced to be portable. Probably seen on tanks, or airplanes.

Oh, the most crucial thing will be WHO has the access to whatever weapon is still available. By then I would certainly hope we have a strong voice on that.

Someone pinch me, I'm having a nightmare!!! It sounds like auto-weapon fire ousidet my door.

Oh oh, is't the SS troops, they've deciphered my satellite hacking, and have used the micro-GPS units they placed in my Domino's pizza to track my whereabouts. They've told me that my trial is this afternoon, and the sentencing is for the 7:00 PM news. My crime is for having hard copies of old documents of pro-self-defense literature. Long since outlawed by our Socialist Party leaders (once known as the Democratic Party), in favor of blind obediance.

Best Regards,
Don

Keep it rollin', guys & gals. This thread is generating more discussion than the "office politics - reaching a consensus" thread" & I think we really need to do this.

I'm for compromise in the true sense of the word in that we give (to a point) - we get. Current politics dictates that we are going to slowly lose everything we have due to incrementalism & attrition. That's how you eat an elephant (which is figuratively what we are).

But, once the "consesus" has been reached, the stake must be driven in the ground & never an inch given.

'Course, that's pretty much what those "old, dead white guys" did in '76.
