Wife with small hands

the new sig p238. give that one a try too.

only shot 3 rounds out of it at the range but was impressed.

wife has a 380, and it always seemed to kick worse than my 45. beretta 86 with the tip up.
was talking to some guy at the range who wasn't picking up his 380 brass and he let me give his a try.

It was very nice. kicked little more than a 22 to me. Was very concerned since it was such a small gun. barely felt it.

pinky hangs off and that always gives me the not a solid grip feel, but the recoil was so low, I felt fine shooting it.

Can't help on the Kahr .380 because I haven't shot one.

The Kahr pistols are thin as you stated. I have the P9 model. It's small for large hands, but the size makes it an easy carry for me. The trigger is long pull double action only and mine is very smooth.

The recoil spring is stout and your wife may have problems working the action if she has weak hands. Disassembly is easy; however, getting the recoil spring back in place takes some power and finesse.

Recoil is significant when compared to a full sized 9mm; however, I don't find it to be a problem for me. I normally grip a pistol tightly. The textured grip doesn't chew my hand up. Dot on post sights allow quick target acquisition.

Machining tolerances appear to be tight. The pistol outshoots my full size 9mm Springfield XDm range pistol for relaxed paper target punching.

thanks 44amp i will defiantly not forget about .22. at the local gun store the owners wife carries a .22mag revolver, does well for her. thanks again

I second the Sig P238! Small hands are a benefit, and the mass of the all metal .380 ACP REALLY dampens out the "snappiness" of these small frame guns. My 238 Equinox is honestly a joy to shoot!! In addition, it is accurate with great night sights.

+1 to those suggesting J Frame .38. Point and shoot. I've got an Airweight .32 H&R Mag that's the cat's meow. Six shots, low recoil and with Georgia Arms' nice warm 100gr JHPs, about mid-pack .38 level performance....and just about disappears OTB or in cargo shorts pocket..Discontinued, but they're out there--hammered and hammerless. Ammo hard to find on shelves, but if you don't reload, just get several bags of the GA JHPs and call it quits. Snubbies aren't for rangemeisters anyway. Whether .38 or .32., shoot 'em just enough to know you can double tap (another .32 Mag specialty) close-range COM effectively.

i second the airweight 32 H&R magnum. i also would recommend a beretta 950 bs in 25acp. you dont have to rack the slide, it has a tip up barrel and its very easy to handle and stay on target.
