Why the concern over "imprinting" of a concealed weapon?

If Mr. Disco lives in a state requiring concealment of a weapon with a permit, I certainly hope he gets stopped by LEO to explain his reasoning...and loses the Permit to carry concealed.

Wow, that's really so cool of you tooldawg99.

So if someone doesn't carry the way you want them too, they should lose their permit? Ok

Though I may not agree with his logic, there's no reason to assume Disco is out looking to start trouble due to some Charlie Bronson fantasy.

Well those are all very good points to consider. My problem is I'm old and tired and can't remember all of the "can't carry here" "can't carry there" and "can't carry within 1000 feet of a school" cr*p. If I have to drive through campus and have a flat tire, I'll forget and get out to change it and then the rent-a-cop university police who aren't familar with ANY of the laws have a field day with me. A while back I walked into the Social Security office and....uuuhhh....is this a federal building...???.....can I carry here....????? Too late. I prefer to keep my mouth shut, tell no one my business, and carry like I always have.

I make sure my weapon is concealed for the same reason I carry my wallet concealed. well, there's actually more than one reason, Ohio doesn't allow open carry but, why invite problems?

The general public is perfectly happy to believe that there are no guns around them, why alarm them? And, kids, idiots and bad guys dont need to know either.

Way back a million years ago I worked on ATM machines and did after hours repairs. I open carried then in plain clothes and ended up in some of the weirdest places at the weirdest times.

I actually had a perfectly sober college kid come up to me as I was repairing an ATM in the Student Union and ask me what I'd do if he tried to grab my gun.

I told him that we'd be wrestling for the gun at that point and if I win, he's dead.

He got this surprised look on his face and said "learn to take a joke" and walked away.

People are stupid, all of them, at some point or another, are just as dumb as the guy who cut you off on the freeway this morning. Some are even stupider.

Not to be rude but...You're a "people" too.

Not what I said, (BH)... read my post again.

No, not what I said at all. I said, if the law requires CONCEALED CARRY where Mr. Disco lives, and he chooses to disregard the CC law by openly "printing" so people "KNOW HE"S CARRYING A GUN", he should lose his permit to carry concealed.

People who are granted a license to carry concealed do not have a license to let people "know I'm carrying a gun". It's called a CONCEALED CARRY PERMIT for a reason, which apparently is something too complex for you to understand.

If Disco can't abide by the CC law, he should lose his permit. yes. And I would be hard-pressed to think many of us on this forum would disagree, but apparently you think a CC permit is a license to show-off your sidearm.

I hope you try it out next time some LEO's are around...and be sure to let us know how it works out.

"Concealed means concealed. Why draw the unwanted attention to yourself?"

This is how I feel as well. Here in Ga. we are allowed to either CC or OC, as long as you have your permit. So printing isn't a legal thing here. It's more of a preference to keep it concealed. I prefer that no one knows that I am armed. If no one knows then no one will report me to the cops, try to take it away, or worse, shoot me first.

On a side note. I go through Wal-mart looking for customers who are packing. I have made several this month trying to conceal. One guy kept adjusting his 1911. He was thin, young and had way too much gun for him. It was rather comical. Looked like a little kid trying to keep a big gun in his belt. He was using a paddle holster and at one point lifted his shirt and moved the thing around to his back. Barney Fife's nephew I think.

I don't know myself. I worry more about the stage of the tide.

If someone else wants to worry about it, it's ok with me.

Ohio doesn't allow open carry

As a person who carries a gun, you should be familiar with the gun laws of the state that you are carrying your gun in. Ohio most certainly does allow open carry. Ohio state law now also preempts cities and counties making it illegal for them to ban open carry. Open carry is allowed in Ohio even without a license, except for carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle, which does require the license, concealed or not.

My attitude is get the damn license whether you carry or not, as long as you want to own guns. It can save you from tripping up some obscure ordinance you are unaware of, or even save you from breaking a real law you know about, but did not realize applies to the place you are. At the very least, what might be a felony with no license might be a mere misdemeanor with a license. Honest mistakes do happen, and can ruin your day fast.

In MA, concealed means concealed. If the gun is imprinted and it causes a concern for some moonbat to report you, then you can face the possibility of having the your LTC revoked due to "not being responsible enough to conceal properly". FYI, losing your LTC also means giving up your gun as well since in this state, you are not even allowed to own a gun unless you have a LTC.

The other day I was at a Subway sandwich shop with my family & was carrying my snub [ iwb ] with a speedloader in my pocket.
As I was pulling the change out my pocket , my speedlaoder fell out on the floor
Best part was that nobody even noticed it as I picked it up , not even my wife. :o
With my handguns , I just wear a size larger t shirt or button up shirt with the shirtail out , no probelm , even when leaning or bending over. :)
