I've always wanted a Model 58 Smith & Wesson. I love that "Model 10 on Steroids" look. I don't believe I've ever even seen one.

I have no specific interest in the cartridge however.

Knew it would come to this. I ordered a .41 magnum Blackhawk, brass, dies, and bullets this afternoon.

Haha, yes!

Now go forth and proselytize! This misunderstood but good and righteous cult must replenish its ranks.

A .357 Magnum cylinder would be limited to 41 Special, like the conversion I am waiting on from Clement Customs on my 3" GP100. Using a 44 Magnum platform (with its longer cylinder frame window to achieve the 41 Magnum cartridge length)...

Incorrect, sir. Both .357 & .41 Magnums have the same cartridge length. The issue is not the length of the cylinder window, but cylinder diameter & wall thickness. Your average .357 cylinder's walls will be too thin after reaming to .41, hence the GP-100 being limited to .41 Special.

.41 fan, myself. Does everything I need a pistol to do, without the drama & histrionics of a .44.

There has been a 41 mag at a LGS that has been sitting in a case for some time now.... Maby it need a new home?

Yes! They would probably like to see it move, too. See if they'll make a deal with you.

I have a Model 58 and a Model 657.

I also had a Ruger SBH in .44 Magnum and an SRH in .44 Magnum. (I sold both!) The .41 Magnum is, IMHO, a far more "flexible" cartridge. It seems more accurate, and thus, garners a better review from me!

Great caliber...less recoil than a fully loaded (and few factory loads are any more) .44 Magnum, yet has all the power you need for deer out to 100 yds. I've had 3 of them over the years, but even when the caliber first came out, it was pretty much of a handloader's proposition. I'll readily admit that a 657 Mountain gun in .41 is one of my holy grail guns. Rod

The .41 Remington Magnum is such a "well-kept secret" that it's members have devised a special handshake for those that love it! ;)

You must not have paid your recent dues--we have upgraded to secret decoder rings.

I've got .41 Magnum brass & bullets... but no .41!

Sigh... oh well. Love to get a fixed sighted S&W N frame .41 that is mousy on the outside, tight on the inside for a good price. Take it down to a 3 inch barrel and make it rounded butt on the frame.

But nowdays they think even junk N fames are gold.

The market must be flooded with standard 6.5" blackhawks in 41--I'm seeing them all over the place all the way down to around $400/450.
