Why don't manufacturers provide 2 magazines?

Gee, hard to answer. Why do some gun companies(wont call names, you know who they are) sell expensive handguns that have to be carried straight to the smith to make them work right?
Cause we keep buying them! I guess.

My Glocks came with 2 mags, mag reloading tool AND a cleaning rod and brush.

Not to mention the black tupperware box.

All the Kahr pistols come with two, except the 'economy' model E9. But if you try to buy a third, you might die of sticker shock. Ruger only provides one magazine for their .22's, but spares are readily available and inexpensive. A five hundred plus dollar gun should come with spares at no additional charge. Dealers/distributors who play 'clip the clip' should be pilloried, or worse. slabsides

I think that all pistols/rifles should come with three magazines and revolvers with 2 speed loaders (there may be a problem with speed loaders, your favorite is my piece of junk). But since I have a very large supply of magazines for the 1911, if I bought a new one and it only had one magazine, I would not care that much.
