Why do you love/hate the .44 magnum?

Yep. It has the same problem every 44 has. It could have been a .41. That reloading argument about loading it up, down, sideways to do anything you want applies to the .41 with the advantage that factory loads are shootable, fun, and useful.
Except that the 41 is almost impossible to find--guns or ammo--whereas 44 is easy to find--guns and ammo. Otherwise I pretty much agree. I have and shoot both, out of a revolver I far prefer the 41. 44 drills big holes that bleed a lot.

One thing I haven't tried is a 10" barrelled .44 single action revolver. That MIGHT be ok, I'd like to try it. A 7½" Super Blackhawk kicks too much, so does a 8" Colt Anaconda, so does a 8 & 3/8" model 29.

A 6½" Blackhawk in .41 is sweet! Rolls up in your hand real nice. I killed an Axis buck with it one shot right on the shoulder point with factory 210 grain JSP.

41 ammo is indeed hard to find locally but hey, the internet's your friend.

Yup--I got one--handles great though I'm not thrilled that the grip frame is aluminum.

Well, you could always put a super blackhawk grip frame on your 41.

:D
