exactly. all of that homeland security talk that bush and his boys shove down our throats is just a bunch of hot air. ANYBODY can cross the U.S./mexican, including terrorists from the middle east, all they have to do is get into mexico, and that cant be very hard.
 
as for my assumption that this woman is illegal, i did say its 99% that shes illegal, a pretty safe assumption seeing as how there are an estimated 12-15 million ILLEGALS here already.

That's alot of meaningless numbers. Since you're so good with them, enlighten us how many LEGAL Spanish speakers are in the country. You would have to already know that to make the above statement, of course.
 
I think the original point of the thread wasn't about speaking english, but actually about the fact that our immigration laws are not being enforced while petty laws are enforced. Wouldn't America be better served if we arrested the criminals that commit the more serious crimes first? Doesn't illegal immigration strike you as a serious crime?

We have a huge huge illegal immigration problem. If I understand the numbers we are allowing in about one million illegal immigrants per year from Mexico. During the Bush/Kerry debates they even debated the best estimate of how many per day come across our border. How can we possibly think we are safe from terrorists when our border is an absolute sieve?

We have so many illegal immigrants here in Texas that if anyone is enforcing the laws it has to be a drop in the ocean operation. We need to actually close the border and expel the illegals.

Can anyone really explain why we dont?
 
i didnt just pull those numbers from my backside, those numbers are the estimates that are in the paper all the time, you ever read one?

so what is it HANDY, are those numbers all bullcrap? we dont have millions of illegals here, is that what your saying? where do you live, Vermont?

because there are far too many people out there hiring them at cut rate wages and keeping the extra money in thier greedy pockets. this is SUPPOSEDLY illegal, yet nothings done about it. i would be willing to bet that many of our "respected leaders" have illegals working for them as maids,gardeners,etc...

i bet the majority of Americans would privately tell you that they would support securing the borders and deporting the illegals, but they wont say it publicly, as some would call them racists, which is absurd. not wanting illegals flooding the country has NOTHING to do with race.

You know, the laws that make it against the laws for someone to come here without documentation are side-by-side with the ones that make my friend and me a felon if we cross the Rio Grande at the "wrong" border crossing. "Documentation" is what the antis want to do with my used guns.
Consider just how much you want the federal government to document you. And him. And her, just because she speaks Spanish.
