Why are cast bullets main stream in wheel guns only

I'd have to disagree with 44 amp about 40 years ago. I cast my bullets from linotype when I could get it and couldn't figure out why I was still getting leading. The swaged bullets I had to order from a gun store cost the equivalent of $200 per 500 rds, just a guess...Now I prefer a Grinnell 0f 9 or less for my revolvers,
WWs for auto loaders and rifle with gc. I like linotype for my .223 loads so I don't have To heat treat.

I think what 44AMP shared was quite close to my own experiences. I was casting and reloading my own bullets in 1976 for 45 Colt. What's to disagree with? I have used quite a bit of linotype; it's a great ingredient, but not so good as a stand-alone bullet metal. Can never have too many wheel-weights, though.
