Why almost no Remy 700 BDL's in .308 ???

That room really is one of kind.

thanks again...:o

It's too small... I tried to make it as big as I possibly could... silly me, I thought I'd have extra space... had to down size some of the shotgun collections, as there just wasn't enough room ( actually I traded my 11-48 & Mossberg 500's & some cash for the 2nd down on the right... a Jack O Conner Winchester 70 ) just to condense ;)

Having a gun room that is too small is a problem that I dream of having. Looks great, good luck in your search for that .308:D

The bottom one was the one I saw. I noticed the bore was of substantial size was why I asked. I couldn't remember if Winchester ever made the Boss in stainless or not. For the last 20 years, Winchester has made a little of everything and not a whole lot of anything in particular.

because both of those are pretty substantial calibers, I've never really "wrung" out the BOSS with either ( though they do greatly reduce recoil )

I've always wanted something Winchester or Browning, with a BOSS, in a caliber I could shoot enough of, to "really" play around with tuning the BOSS... these 2 rifles, I used the recommended settings, & pretty much left them... I'd like to have something in 223 or ??? that I could put several 1000 rounds down range & really get to play with...

The 700 line up has been drastically reduced. I had a freind who had a 700BDL in almost every chambering. The 222 was one of my favorites, nice full size rifle with a sweet little cartrige.

see now I'm jealous... ( a BDL in nearly every chambering )

The only 222 I have, is a carbine barrel for my Contenders, & that is a sub MOA gun with that barrel on, with most any 222 loading... with my best 5 going into about 1/4" at 100 yards ( & I don't shoot all that well )

222 is bad juju for varmints :)

Hey Magnum,

Don't feel bad, my much longed for 25-35 is a 10" octagon Contender instead of a nice little lever gun. Still, a sweet little pistol and historic old cartrige.;)

The BDL and ADL were both discontinued several years ago and replaced with the CDL and SPS. There was enough demand for both to be brought back in limited production. You will see a handful of BDL's at places like Walmart etc., but only in limited calibers and 308 is not one of them They don't even list them on their website or catalog except for the occasional limited edition. The CDL is now the flagship of the 700's.

The ADL went down the same path. The SPS is the primary budget gun now, but they make a handful for big box stores. I occasionally still see one at places like Sportsman's Warehouse or Walmart.

You are correct about the ADL; however the BDL is still very much within the lineup and does appear in the 2014 catalog. They are only in the standard walnut and polish blued configuration (with iron sights).

Remington does see the CDL as the flagship, so I agree on that too.

CD... it's a walk in fireproof gun safe room...

had one of my BDL's out yesterday... to sight in... I put a vintage Luepold 2-7 on the rifle with some Millet engraved rings, over the winter... this is "my" newest BDL, I bought it last year, it's got several handling dings, but was likely an unfired 70's vintage ( came into the local shop... an "old guy" traded in 4-5 rifles in 35 Whelen, if this BDL was fired, it certainly wasn't much ) originally had only iron sights, when I bought it....

10 shots off the bench, working my way out from 25 yards, & I was punching the center out of a 1" bullseye, at 100 yards... I think it's going to be a shooter

My shoulder is telling me today, that she's also a "kicker" off the bench... no bruises... just can tell I was shooting a boomer off the bench yesterday:o

I am first a Remington 700 fan and a 308 fan. You have to be able to find what you are looking for. It just doesn't make sense that Rem. would discontinue the 308. You have a real nice collection there. Don't give up on the 308 in 700 even a older one in good shape should show up. Although I cant think of any reason a person would want to get rid of one. MouseBerg is in another lower group. Of course we know that.
