Who would you like to see as Attorney General

It would be all but impossible to find a politically prominent attorney that possessed both INTEGRITY and HONESTY. With the exception of the attorney members of this forum, it would be a damned difficult job given any group of lawyers.

I agree, the thought of Hatch gave me a chill.

Waitone: Weren't you out waving goodbye when that concept disappeared over the horizon a couple of years ago?

If you're not a little upset with the way the world is going, you're not paying attention.

If it were not for blatent unconstitutional meddling by the federal government in affairs that should only concern the individual states and individual citizens: there would be no need for nor any excuse for a federal justice department. Hence no requirement for an attorney general.

The Judicial branch could consist of the supreme court and little else.

Trouble with suddenly getting rid of all the federal porcine puffery is that we would have half the work force unemployed.

My only argument here is that Ron Paul is way down at number 4. A justice whose first criterion for judging an issue is whether or not it's in the Constitution ought to be first. Besides, Thomas and Scalia are already there. I'm not sure that Stevens will ever retire if he knows Keyes or Paul is waiting in the wings...

VOTE REPUBLICAN!

Maybe it's me, but I thought Thomas was doing an excellent job of reading the constitution. I haven't read but a few of his opinions, but the ones I have read seemed to reflect a deep desire to uphold the dreams of the founders. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
I would be happy to put Paul at the top of the heap. I'd be happy to put Keyes at the top of the heap too. Chief Justice seems so much the figurehead anyway. I don't care where my guys are on the court just so long as they are on the court.

I agree... Justice Thomas does in fact read & understand the Constitution. That ought to be the litmus test for a SC Justice. Keyes & Paul are two people that spring to mind that also read & understand the Constitution.

I'd take eight more like Thomas.

"Figurehead" is pretty close to the description of the Chief Justice. As I understand it, the only thing his does to earn the exra money is assign the writing of the Court's opinions to the various Justices.

Ann Coulter for sure. She's never said anyting I didn't heartily agree with. Let's give her a chance to kick some butt.

BTW, I's suspect anyone who turned down the sound on her of liberal leanings :)
