Who wants to have FUD for a neighbor?

Having lived in Arizona and (now) Texas - I'd have to give the nod to Northern Arizona. Great country, decent climate.
East Texas ain't a hell of a lot different than Florida for heat and humidity. In West Texas you beat the humidity - but (with some higher elevation exceptions) you don't beat the heat.
For outdoor recreation - Arizona has a lot more public land than does Texas. Texas is not (for handguns) an open carry state.
In Texas, if you live on the coast you get hurricanes. If you live in the Northern, Northeastern sections you're prone to tornados. Take your pick.

FUD, you can be my neighbor, but would you want to with the oppressive laws we have in California? I'm sure you'd want to be able to take any "black" rifle you own to the range, blast away at your target and walk away feeling good about yourself. Nope, can't have a black rifle unless it's registered by December 31 of this year. Can't wait to retire so I can skedaddle.

Yo FUD...I just got back from a brief stay in the White mountains of AZ....real nice. Wish I was there now. I'm in San Antonio....just damn hot here. I'd say AZ as well...as long as it's not in the Valley. Bad thing about the moubtains-like someone pointed out...you don't got Snowbird, ya got HEATbirds....They piped in too much water and lawns down low...so now it's hot and humid and they come up to the mountains for the Summer....and they are bringing their bad habits along with em....

FUD, yer welcome here in Georgia. If you move close to Alpharetta.. that'll be great. Close enough to go shooting, far enough away not to share your misfourtunes! 
No, seriously, if you move to Alpharetta, you're better off NOT living in Fulton county. Pick a surrounding county and drive into Alpharetta.. It'll save you some serious money from taxes and such. I currently live in Vinings.. and all these rich yuppies just remind me how much I miss the North Georgia mountains.. *sigh*

No, seriously, if you move to Alpharetta, you're better off NOT living in Fulton county. Pick a surrounding county and drive into Alpharetta.. It'll save you some serious money from taxes and such. )AZ, no contest. I live in NM and go to Flagstaff every year. I love it and also Prescott. Just think FUD, you could be close to me and maybe someday if you take care of yourself, be just like me. I bet you can hardly wait. Seriously, AZ is great and if I ever moved from Las Cruces I would look at Prescott. Of your other choices TX would be my second choice. I don't like the humidity of the East and I also like the open spaces of the West. Best of luck in making your choice. It is an important decision. Regards, Jerry

I have to Vote for Alpharetta GA also. I live in Marietta but I work in Alpharetta. I am originally from Iowa but I love it down here in Georgia. You can get a concealed carry permit in about 45 days and River Bend Gun Club is just north of Atlanta and they have some great ranges. http://www.rbgc.org/
