Who here totes a N-frame?

625-7 45 colt

I sometimes carry my 3" 625-7 chambered in
45 colt.I use a good 1 3/4" belt with a older
pancake holster. It hides really well under a
oversized button up shirt.

Have carried a 4" 29 quite a bit in the last 20 some years. Never pined away for a lesser gun. I don't carry concealed.

IWB Holster?

Rick, who made the IWB holster in the picture you posted? The one at the bottom with the Bone grips on the gun. How well does it work for you? It looks like a very nice holster and I would be interested in trying to get one like it. Thank you and Merry Christmas to all!

John,

That is a Milt Sparks VersaMax-2 for my 2.5" Model 66-1 with Class A engraving, shown here before those elk grips.

It is a bit above ordinary with the sharkskin trim, but still within reason ($125 vice $97). You can order them here: http://www.miltsparks.com/

It is a very comfortable holster. Having the loops off the cylinder makes it lower profile, too. I am quite pleased with it. It took about four months for them to make it and get it to me. I placed the order, and they called me when they were ready to start fabrication and confirmed the details. About three weeks after the call, it arrived.

You won't regret it.

I've carried M-27, 28, 57 and 29's in Bianchi, S&W shoulder and Cylone holsters from 4 inch to 8 3/8 under hunting coats for years, (Ruger SBH's too).

At times I've carried my S&W 629 3 inchers in a Haugen Big Magnum holster as CCW. With a good belt and windbreaker or better it hides well but is heavy after a long day. I mostly carry K frame snubbies or a Colt Detective for CCW.

I did recently buy a S&W 325PD in 2 3/4 inch for CCW as I like the larger calibers. I ordered a Galco pancake holster for it which should be delivered this week. I plan on trying this out for it's light weight and .45acp capabilities.
I've carried it some now in an inside Carhart jacket pocket and had to check a couple times to be sure it was still there, it's that light at 22 ozs.

I've toyed with the idea of having a double shoulder holster rig made up for my brace of 629 3 inchers a hundred serial numbers apart. I'd like the New York reload concept but not sure how much I'd actually use such a rig.

I carry a 4" 629 in a Kramer Vertical Scabbard. Somehow this holster pulls the gun up so tight you don't feel any off-balance symptoms at all. It makes carrying the gun all day pretty easy, even with 270gr bullets. Very comfortable and easy to hide.
