Who hates their P226/229 elite stainless?

but its also odd that they wouldn't make sure their website is up to date. ....??

As you yourself said there are tens of variants for individual models, and they have a number of models of pistols and rifles too. I think it's a matter of inundation.

mags

Mag and shipped mag capacity changed on p229 e2/enhanced elite in 9mm a couple of years ago.
My 2010 9mm p229 e2 (non stainless) has the same frame as the p229 40 cal and a new specialized magazine "229-1." I believe the older p229 in 9 had a different frame than same model in 40.

I was in a 10 round jurisdiction, so I bought some p229/228 9m 10 round oem sig mags when I got my gun, and had seller send the 15 round oems to my brother out of state. On the ten rounders I was having trouble with failure of slide to lock back after final round about 10% of the time. Two sig reps did not know what it was. Finally I got a sig rep who knew that this is cuased by using older and slightly different p229/228 9mm mags in a post mid year 2010 p229.

Sig's site and a LOT of their printed info is in fact a BOTCH for magazines. They still list in some material a lot of mags they discontinued (eg some p239 mags) and sometimes their own reps don't know what frame might be on your model without printing up the "BOM" listing all the parts on your specific gun from their internal database.

I,v got. 229 (shorty forty) and love it! That said, if you cant find a 226 or 229, try loking at the Stainless Sig 1911. Out of all my Sigs, I shoot the 1911 the most. And love the way it shoots!

Holy Zombie threads, Duallydondon!

welcome aboard... but dang, if you're going to raise the dead, you should say something.

I can’t say that I hate the stainless framed Sig P22X guns. But I’m just so used to my P6, P228, M11-A1, and P226/40 over the years that I’ve always thought that the steel framed Sigs just felt & carried so heavy. But a P226 Elite Stainless in .40S&W just works great, I’d love to have one of those!

There are always some on Gunbroker. I came very close to buying a P226 Stainless Elite back in July, but the money didn't work out very well.
