which do.

Tamara,
My rolling eyes had to do with CA's certified safe list, not Korth quality. The list is so valuable as a QA tool that as an example, the S&W 19's and 57 I just bought aren't on it.

Korth can probably sell enough without dealing in CA, so why bother paying tribute.

Best Revolver?

Hi Folks,

I'm new here and enjoy the Forum.

IMHO the BEST REVOLVER is the RELIABLE

and AFFORDABLE one that the AVERAGE

person can actually buy, to protect

oneself, home and family.

My two are a TAURUS 85 and ROSSI 352

stainless, at $250 and $270 new. And

those are LA prices! Both can be fired

(and have) all day at the range,

without incident.

Regards, and Stay Safe.

I'm with Frenchy

Pure beauty and grace.

Mine has the nicest action on any handgun I've ever shot. Bar none.

When people say they don't make 'em like they used to, these are what they are talking about.

Best revolver I know of?

that would have to be a buddy of mine who came to see me a few days ago.

He had a half dozen pre 1960 smith revolvers for sale, all in near mint condition......I bought all of them

but along with these smiths, he had a mint condition 1915 Colt New Service 6" blued marked 45 colt. After research I found that this gun has reccessed cylinder to accept 45 ACP. Now this is one sweet revo...................must talk him out of it.

Dewey.. thats PURDY!

My fave is the hand fitted Colt SAA.. I can't even afford one yet. (So I bought a Ruger Vaquero)

I do love my Colt New Service Army 1917. Its big ugly and wierd.. but to me.. a work of art, it also has lasted 80+ years since it was made.. so I'd say its good stuff, no problems with it ever.

I also have a fanciful lust for the Colt Patterson revolver, but I'm strange.

Ok riverdog, how about some info (and perhaps a pic) of that 57.

I've come to like the older *&*'s. I have 3 .41 magnum revolvers from the 70's. I'd have to say my 6" blued 57 is one of my favorites.

Who has the best? Why Colt, S&W, Ruger, Dan Wesson nd a couple more companys.

I also have some of the best.

Tony

Tamara, speaking of anal retentive Germans, I have a few of their revolvers.

But for general purposes, I'd have to say the S&W 1917 in 45acp.

but back to the ARG's, the best shooting pistol, the one that brings real joy every time I get it to the range, is my Herbert Schmidt SAA in 357MAG. It was made sometime before WWII. After they finished making it, some other ARG's over proofed it.

In this picture it's the one at the bottom.

In this armourmer's opinion, for the most rugged and reliable revolver, it's Ruger over any other brands. Rugers will out last the Colt, S&W, Taurus & Rossi.

For smoothness of action, the old Colt Python (OK, the older S&W that had the crescent shaped sear was just as smooth).

Note: I happen to own more S&W than any other brand.

A tuned S&W is hard to beat - only the exceptional Colt can be as good or better than many standard S&W revolvers. Tune the S&W and the DA is very hard to beat. Sa is pretty good from factory.

Particular model: M14 K-38, 6" barrel.
