Who has the best revolver you know?

First of all, welcome to the board.

I'm not sure exactly what it is that you are asking. What is thee best individual example of revolver? What's the best in terms of brand name? What's the best particular model?

Quite frankly, I have the best.

An S&W Model 28 with the "Mike Irwin modification package" including an action job and ivory grips.

A friend of my father's has an original S&W No. 3 in .44 Russian (I could be wrong on the caliber.)

That's the one I lust after the most.

In my option Smith & Wesson wrote the book on Revolvers.
Ruger runs A close second.
I had A Colt Troper Mark III and it was A pice of junk, but I think most Colts are good guns, I have an AR15 Colt and love it.

For full sized guns, the Python has always been considered the best production gun. Mine is great in all respects, though my S&W 686 is a very close second.

For smaller guns, I don't think anyone will argue with a J-frame of one type or another, my favorite being the 340sc.

ME

My 5.5" stainless 44 Redhawk is awesome.

Or, one of my GP100's.

Although, my wife's S&W M38 is perfect, too.

Hmmmmmmmmm....................

Probably me, as my Smith & Wesson 629-5 with its 5"
tube is a piece of craftsmanship at it's finest; even
though the company is in turmoil.

I'd love an original S&W No. 3. Such a nice revolver. Mmmm....
Chris, I think they only made them in .44 Russian. Not 100% sure though.

What's the definition of 'best?'

Most practical and dependable would be, for me, a stainless Redhawk with 7.5" barrel.
Best-looking would be an 1860 Army, or a S&W model 3.

Speaking of which..does any company currently produce a Model 3 in anything besides .44 Russian? .38 Special would be perfect, to match the 1860 'conversion.'

Define best!

Ok seems to need more clarification:

Define best as in what you think. Functionality, use, appearance, smoothness of action, reliability.

Remember what you think. No need to get nick picky or name calling!

A local gunshop has the 60's era S&W Model 57 I just bought. Once my gunowner harrassment period is up, I'll have it :)

If you're talking new manufacture, that would be ... don't know -- Korth? Tamara seems to like 'em. Since they aren't on the CA approved list of safe handguns they must be good

Any revolver that is completely handmade by anal-retentive German technicians in a vacuum chamber with special sanctified machine tools that are thrown away after each gun is made (at least I assume that's the justification for the price) and starts at 3,000+ Euros (remember, the exchange rate is pegged at 1 Euro=1 US$) has got to be pretty darn good if the company is to remain in business.

*&* Performance Center, Colt Custom Shop, even Freedom Arms look downright proletarian by comparison,

Gotta agree with WESHOOT2, it's a 5.5 inch stainless Redhawk.
Meowhead put it right also, it might not be the best looking, but it sure is practical, dependable and alot of fun to shoot.
