Who else likes powderpuff loads?

I guess I must like powderpuff loads with rifle cartridges since I load over 20 such cartridge calibers for indoor shooting with a max load of Trail Boss powder and mostly with lead bullets. If you are familiar with TB you know that these are PPFs. But yes with a 360 grain bullet and TB in a .458 Win Mag you can experience some recoil but it's certainly not the real thing like with a standard 510 gr jacketed and a standard powder. But such PPFs are shooter friendly and allow you to fire over 100 rounds on a daily basis. This comment will probably offend some but I don't WASTE any TB with handgun loads. There seems to be very few posts from individuals who use TB with rifle loads.

Condor Bravo--I just started loading 30-06 with Trail Boss. It's a lot of fun to shoot. Now that I've done this, my wife, very recoil sensitive, is able to shoot.

Nick_C_S,

Badda Bing, Badda Boom. You hit the nail squarely on the head with your statement, "that's why we reload". It isn't always about saving money.

I'm going to take a chance tonight and load me a super duper puffball.

I loaded 2 grains of shotgun powder in a 9mm, and it was just lighter. It was sort of fun. The powder was Longshot.

What is the bare minimum that you guys think one could load and have the bullet clear the muzzle of a pistol like a Sig? .5 grains? I'm thinking of loading and marking the bullets all the way down to .1 grains, starting at 1 grain. Do you think .1 grains will clear the muzzle? That's hardly any powder.

357 magnum 125 gr I think I.ve done 1.9 gr tite group out of 6" Taurus. I call them the "Lobbers" they arc so much and bounce off wood. Beware of squibs I think I bumped it up to 2.2 gr more reliable.

They are funny at the range.
