Who carries a concealed Cocked & Locked 1911?

I carry a Para P-14 "limited" on and off duty in condition #1. No problems, But i do get some strange looks when people see my weapon cocked and locked while out on duty... :)

Hey Fud, I have carried 1911's for many years in cocked and locked carry. No problems with snagging. As others mentioned clothing can play a huge role in any fire arm snagging as some material is more prone to catch things than others.
I have on occasion carried my 1918 made Colt cocked and locked with no problems. Still have my family jewels so all is right! 45automan

C&L since the mid '60's, no problems with the hammer snagging. The only time I did have a problem was when I was carrying in C2 and the hammer caught on my jacket, cocking it.

BTW, I keep a cocked and locked H&K Tactical (round in chamber, thumb safety engaged) at home. I'm so used to my 1911's that keeping my house gun (H&K) any other way doesn't seem right.

H&K doesn't have a grip safety but does have a firing pin block though...

I have been carrying a Colt Defender for over a year now in Condition #1 with no problems. I have carried it "Mexican" most of the time. Just recently got a Bianchi holster for it, no problems either, other than printing once in a while.

I have carried several 1911-type pistols, most recently a ParaOrd P12.45, in Condition one. Usually in a Galco S.O.B. or a belt slide-type rig. No real problems on the draw as, like others above, I found the thumb usually "clears a path" past any potentially snag-causing covering garments.

Carry a Kimber ultra elite in a Sparks VM2 inside the waistband. Very comfortable and concealable. Just got a Hume sob to try out, but so far the jury is still out on this carry.

FUD is there any other way to carry one?

Only problem I have is the comp on the longslide and aimpoint scope somtimes get snagged on my fatigue pants when I pull it out of my ankle holster :D

Allways carry gov model in #1, and dont have no hammer block, two safties are enough for me.

The cocked hammer does not interfere whatsoever when drawing.

well you COULD spend the money for the DA lower for your 1911 kit gun.. or just carry cocked and locked that's what it's made for.

Try a belt slide (galco) or a yaqui slide (bianchi) (I think Less is more with a holster)
