Who carries a BUG? Where do you put it? Where should I put mine?

I carry a pps in a minitaur at 6:30, spare mag at 4:30. love this combination. Intruducing my BUG, a blackened kahr p380 with CT. I am right handed. How should i carry the Kahr?

IWB @10, spare mag @ 2?

Weakside carry?

Pocket carry? Problem with this is I can find any I like that I can get what I consider a resonable time. A month.

ps sorry guys but the holster section is a tumbleweed wasteland.

and, it's always shorts and t-shirt weather here

I carry my BUG on my "support" side. I have two set ups. One is G19 AIWB, spare G17 magazine at 11:00 and BUG G26 at 8:00. The other is 1911 strong side, spare mag at 9 and j frame at 8:00.

thanks you for the reply. sorry for my ignorance, what is support side for right handed person? you must wear some baggy clothes.

can any1 tell me which side at least? left or right? no jokers please. want to make the order in tonight so i should have it soon. i tell you, ive been looking at the crossbreed microclip. i was just worried that would be too much for IWB (considering my other gun and 2 mags). thats why i also wanted to know if this would be better in pocket. its only 0.75" thin. pps is .90" thin.

i do have a beltman gun belt i wear daily.
pps is only 22oz unloaded no mag
riding in MTAC minituar with mag pouch
kahr has a CT laser

Not trying to be smart but no one can tell you what is best for you, it is a decision that you have to make. The support side would be your left if you are right handed. You will probably buy a lot of holsters before you find the combination that is right for you, I am still looking for the perfect set up.

well im just looking for suggestions. thanks, now i know to get something left handed. i dont want to end up with the "drawer of holsters". i bought the minitaur combo, couldnt be happier. later bought a mika pocket holster for a 642, looked like a brick in my pocket so returned it. He was even kind enough to refund all shipping charges. im batting 1000 so far and trying to keep it that way.

It is very hard to find the perfect set up. For me it has been pocket carry with no holster... but I get a lot of crap for it, I am still trying out pocket holsters.

I don't like IWB holsters because at my job I have to sit a lot and Drive even more. I do occasionally carry on the ankle but that is rare.

I like shoulder holsters but they only work with a coat or a jacket.

My 2nd gun is an airwieght .38 snubby that's holstered in a Uncle Mike's size 3 pocket holster that sits in my right front pocket, since I'm right handed.:)

That's just my preference. You got to try a few different methods and see what works best for you.

Deja Vu : like you I have to sit alot and drive a ton also. i found the pps, in minitaur MTAC at 4:30 to be optimal. I acn drive or sit all day with it ... i do it every day. i can even take naps in it, etc. when you can do that, you know you've found a good holster/belt combination that works for you

ksblazer i just bought a 642 no lock BNIB. carried in a mika pocket holster, looked like a brick in my pocket. just my personal experience. im thin and dont wear baggy clothes so it looks like the thinnest guns/holsters are working out for me.

i may put in an order for a crossbreed microclip horsehide P380 with CT. Nicest looking option at this point. Hiddenholsters makes the best looking pocket pistol holster IMO, but their backlog is HUGE.

When I carried one as a police officer I carried one a g27 on my vest like a shoulder harness but weak hand accessible, learned that in the academy and carried the bug for my bug a lcp 380 in my left pocket and ammo in left cargo pocket.

I posted in your other BUG thread and I'm still curious about your desire/need to carry one - job, location, just want to?

Anyway, as I said in my other post, I carry a BUG on duty but not off duty. I carry it in my weak side cargo pocket.

job requires it. i am self employed. anyone think the microclip with p380 and pps in minitaur is too much stress on a 1.5" horsehide gunbelt with no stiffener? PPS in back, P380 in front. with 1 extra mag for each, and a couple very small knives and possibly a choke wire?

G27 of G22 strong side at 4 o click iwb.

Ruger lcp in a desantis nemesis/superfly in weak side front or back pocket

extra mag for lcp in weak side back or front

I used this setup for quite some time. Under a vest it worked exceedingly well, Hazel cross draw holster.

A self employed Canadian in Florida and your job requires you carry a garrotte?

You wouldn't happen to be the Sergeant of a three-man Rapid Tactical Force at one of America’s largest indoor retail shopping areas, would you?

To answer your questions in order:
  • I do on frequent occasion.
  • Typically my BUG is in either an ankle holster (DeSantis, next week a Kramer), or a SmartCarry.
    • BUG is a Ruger LCR .357 with a Trijicon front sight.
    • Main gun is either a P99 or P99c, carried in pocket (Remora), SmartCarry , or IWB (Crossbreed Supertuck, in October a Milt Sparks VM2).
  • Where ever you are comfortable with it. Lots of factors involved, including:
    • wardrobe
    • priorities: concealment vs. access. Typically the deeper the concealment, the harder to access.
    • physical limitations
If you are thinking of ankle carry and have never done it before, get yourself a cheap nylon ankle holster for 20 bucks or so - don't worry about access, just wear it and the BUG around the house for a few days to see if you can put up with the weight. Not everyone can.
  • If you can, then get the best ankle holster you can afford; it's an awkward spot to draw from, and you don't want an inferior product complicating things. Kramer, DeSantis, Galco, and Renegade all make good holsters.
  • If you can't, then you found out before you wasted more money

Maybe I need to readjust my BS meter...

6:30 or 4:30? That started to make me wonder.

Then, when I tried picturing a guy carrying 2 guns, 2 reloads, 2 knives and a choke wire (and just how do you call that "defensive"?), can you blame me for thinking we're being played?

and, it's always shorts and t-shirt weather here

Methinks it might always be 4:20 there also!
