which shotgun shoots 2 3/4 walmart shells?

I'm with Scorch, my 103 year old Remington Autoloader will eat anything it's fed and want more. Hell it's more reliable than my 10 year old Browning Gold hunter.

The old higgins auto I just got for the wife doesn't like the blue bulk box shells. It shot the first one fine then loaded a live second with the spent one still chambered, the bolt is stuck and the shop told me to bring it back and they'll make it right.

landlord, What is the manufacturer and gauge, DRAM, veocity, and shot load of those shells? Is the hull blue or is that the color of the box?

my prior statement was a little wrong, they were not the blue box. they in fact Winchester target and game load, 12. 2 3/4, 1200 fps, 1 1/8, 8 shot lead.

If a shell is going to jam in the chamber, that is the one reportedly most likely to do it; WallMart Winchester value pak. Especially on new Remington 870 pumps. They tend to have rough chamber walls. Your old JC Higgins may need to have its chamber polished/cleaned.

If the dealer that sold it to you said he will make it rigth let him. There may be something else the gun needs like a sping or a gas seal. If that doesn't do the trick, here are instructions to polish the chamber. I assume your gun has a removable barrel. http://www.aiptactical.com/Page_2.html Look at the instructions for cleaning a new barrel.

I would avoid those Winchester Value Paks from WalMart and use the Federal value paks sold by there.

update on the higgins
gunsmith did a complete cleaning of the gas system and replaced the recoil springs at no cost. now it will shot win supper speed shells fine but still proffers high brass, that means it wont get shot to much till I can get a good stock up going.

You shouldn't have to break in a pump gun. If you are shooting the Express, there are more than a few reports of rough chambers which need some polishing

Update. I used the steel-wool-over-an-old-bore-brush-on-a-drill-running-in-the-chamber polishing method. Next range trip, I shot over 60 Fed Birdshot, 10 Winchester buck, and 10 Win slugs. Not one lock up.

My 870 Express, Police, and Marine Magnum eat up all Wally World rounds. That said, on the Express and Police I polished the chamber with steel wool before shooting them. It does seem to help with extraction.

Not sure what you mean by "Walmart shells"

...but I frequently buy shotgun shells for stocking up and shooting at Walmart.

The Winchester brand "Super X" 15 round boxes of both 00 Buck and Rifled Slugs are best values IMHO, and the 100 round "Value Packs" of bulk birdshot, 7, 7 1/2, and 8 shots, are my staple shotgun shell packs. They come in a large box of 4 25-rd boxes inside, and are great.

Let the record reflect I have Mossberg 930 SPX. And it's never ever even once had a malfunction.

Wally world has three different 4-packs of ammo (at least here) - Federal, Remington, and Winchester - the Winchester Universals are the crappiest promo ammo ever made and their Super Speeds are close behind.

IIRC, one of them, if not both, uses Cheddite hulls and maybe loaded who knows where - but they use the cheapest components possible to meet a certain price point. These are NOT exclusive to wally world, but they are the same cheap promo loads for folks who want to bust some pasture clays or milk jugs in the backyard - and for that, IF you can get them to work in your gun, then all is well

I've never had any gun not shoot any of the budget loads sold at Walmart made by either Winchester, Federal, or Remington.

Back 10-15 years ago the cheap Winchester stuff was so poorly constructed that I had problems with it fitting into the chamber of a Stevens 511, never mind getting it to eject.

Don't know if they ever fixed the problems because I haven't bought any Winchester shotgun shells since then. No reason to when the Remington and Federal stuff is just as cheap and works without any problems.

Ive had problems with Winchester Universals in gas autoloaders. I dont know what powder they used but it really gums up the gas system. The Berettas will usually keep shooting. Ive had several 1100's puke on that stuff. Nothing is quite as much fun as tearing one of my shooters guns down to clean the gas system 3/4 of the way through a match.
