Which pistol do you trust your life to ??

I don 't have a single gun that I would not bet my life on. They all work perfectly or they find new digs. I own hk / glock / sig / springfield / colt . No others around or wanted thanks.

I would trust my life with any of the guns I own. Like others have said if it doesn't run either get it fixed or get rid of it.
All that being said, I keep my H&K Expert by my bed. Best House gun money can buy. IMHO

I trust my life w/ my Glock 23 (1200 rounds no hickups) and 36(don't recieve for 2 more days:( ) as of now... I did trust it w/ a USP .40 previously(2000 Rounds No hickups).

HK P7 series.... or my Glock! I had a dream before of running to my safe and choosing a weapon to engage an attacker....out of my collection of pistols...
Kimber GM, HK USP40, USP match 45, HK P9S, HK P7M8, P7M10, CZ75, Walter P5, Glock 34, 35, SIG 210, SIG 226,.....the one my subconscious grabbed was the P7M8.
Wierd.... that's why I keep my P7M8 magazines loaded at all times. :)

ive never shot a sig that failed.
never.
its the ONLY type of gun that i can say has never failed on me.
this includes when i didnt shoot handguns so great.
ive had glock 19cs stove pipe on me.
so id probably go with a sig 220,
a glock 35
1911 with some mods (reliability, triger)
usp 45 full size
and a broken in g 19

there might be some other weapons id go to war with, but i havent shot them (id love a usp expert 40!!!) so i cant say id bet the life on them. its up to God any way.
k.s.

I only have one pistol that I wouldn't grab in a pinch. And that's only because I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet.

In fact, of all my current pistols, I don't think I've ever had any of them malfunction.

My experience is limited to 1911's, Berettas (92FS), Walthers, Rugers and Glocks. The only calibers that I have fired extensively (more than 5000 rounds) are the 9mm, the .40 S&W and the .45ACP.

Based on the foregoing, and on the fact that I place a relatively high value on my life and on that of my family, the following list reflects MY ranking of the self-defense handguns that I own. This ranking is based on out-of-the-box RELIABILITY:

1. Glock 21 (.45ACP - 13 rounds +1)
2. Glock 23 (.40 S&W - 13 rounds +1)
3. Glock 27 (.40 S&W - 10 rounds +1)
4. Glock 17 (9mm - 17 rounds +1)
5. Glock 19 (9mm - 15 rounds +1)
6. Beretta 92FS (9mm- 15 rounds +1)
7. Colt 1911 (.45ACP - 7 rounds +1)

FOOTNOTE "A" : Before the flames start, I have omitted the Sigs and Hk's ONLY because I'm not personally familiar with them. I am certain that they are reliable and accurate, I just haven't owned either, and thus haven't fired either extensively.

FOOTNOTE "B" : My ranking is not based on which pistol is the prettiest, the most expensive, has the oldest design, has the best sights, etc, etc, etc. It is based on my experience in shooting JHP self defense ammo (Hydra Shock, Golden Saber, Gold Dot, etc) WITHOUT A HICCUP.

I have a Glock 20c that is at the ready. Never a problem and shoots like a dream.

I have a couple hi-caps and 30rds of hell for any idiot that comes into my house uninvited. Big fast bullets make nasty holes and the guy behind him will pay too.

Soon I will have a M-6 tactical for it and be all ready for night time...The prefered time of most scumbags..

Of course I only need to buy a few seconds till I get the 870 police out and make for a full tube of buckshot. It also has a surefire forestock light and will put some light on the situation.

The AR-15 would need a extreme reason for use, but it's available if needed. "Maybe for a home invasion or something".

I would feel sorry for the idiot that gave me a chance to get to my guns. They are at the ready and Scum deserve no mercy!!

I have a Sigma 40F and it has a M-4 light also. I leave that one for the wife. I did have one problem with it, but it was the ammo not the gun. It has always been reliable since. Just for the record my buddy has a Glock 22 and he also had light primer strikes with this ammo. Junk with hard primers...!

There's a Glock 19 on the head board at all times, an MK9 in my desk, a Taurus 85Mult in the kitchen and a Taurus Tracker stashed in the living room. And, of course, a 12 gauge close at hand

The 85, MK9 or 19 goes out with me (in that order).

GUN OR INTERESTING PAPERWEIGHT.....

Hmmmmm......my NAA mini, S&W M38, all my Redhawks, my Witnesses (9x19, 9x21, 38 Super, 40 S&W, 41AE), and my 1911 (Caspian, of course).

Only ones I don't trust 100% are my GP100's; both have modified actions for IPSC. But I still wear them occassionally.

-------------------------------------------

"all my handguns are carry handguns"

Gun or interesting paperweight?

Despite being 100% reliable, my .32 Mag Single Six and my .44 Bisley Vaquero are more in the interesting paperweight category when it comes to self defense. They're plenty lethal and all, I'm sure, but I just have better choices to reach for.

The Manurhin PPK in .32 I picked up for $100 is 100% reliable: it will FTF on the last round in the magazine every time.:(

My 586 is 100% reliable, but I don't often run into situations where I have to trust my life to a pistol with an 8" tube and a scope.;)

My G30 has been 100% reliable, but I've had my G29 longer and therefore carry it more.

My Springfield V-10 is ultra reliable, but it spends a lot of time taken apart for some project or other.

The G29 and 625-4 are just the ones I most often trust my life to.

Kimber Classic Target (on my hip now) and a J-frame in the nightstand for backup (my wife makes a great back up with a J)

Not a d*** one. my S&W 459 is totally reliable and the rest of my guns seem to be the same; but I trust my "life" to my ability to survive and do the right thing in any situation from driving, house fire, or Heaven forbid a fight. I hate to dramatize but it's almost like in "Outlaw Josey Wales" when you gotta get "....maddog mean". I've seen reference to the color codes on this forum, e.g., red, green, white or yellow and I've read something about that level of awareness or alertness and I thing I instinctively develop a posture like that based on my perception of a threat. It really doesn't bother me unless I''m with my family and my concern for them; cause if I'm by my lonesome this ol' boy will beat feet in a NY minute if'n they catch me then it's on them.

The pistol I would trust my life to would be my Glock 23. Following that wouldn't be a rifle, it'd be my AK-47. Preferably AK-47 first, but Glock if it had to be a handgun.

G-34 with M3 Tac light at home. G-26, when away from home. Some of you may not like it, but a Glock is the most reliable combat handgun on the planet.
