Which one?

Um, I only gave three choices because I don't have the S&W 327...yet! Was gonna show the wife all the comments for the 327. I try really hard not to spend $1,000 without getting the bosses' permission! :D

I'm actually surprised everyone has gone with the wheelgun.
Well, that's only because of the limited choices the OP gave us. If he had opened it up for all options, I'd have voted for a 1911 in .45 acp.

The 357 Magnum, if you are looking to keep it next to your bed, check out these nice little gun devices (Nightstander) Gun holder for your nightstand......Go to WWW.manaboutracks.com and check them out, the guy lives in Florida and makes all kinds of handgun racks. I recently purchased one and just love it, it also holds your tactical flashlight (Surefire G2) is mine.

the 4 inch 357 wheelgun is the most dependable, versatile handgun that one can own. Carry, hunting, self defense, plinking with light 38 specials up to hot 357 loads. Shot shells, dutch loads.

What's not to love?

Like nearly everyone else, my nod goes to the wheel gun (ugh, still hate the word gun, but "wheel firearm" sounds awful). Anyway, with the revolver being in your top running- look at fit. Between different grips, wraps, Tyler T-Grips, and who knows what else- you can get the fit to where it truly is a natural extention of your arm.

Are you married? Will your firearm both fit and be useful for your spouse? Yes, the revolver is a great choice and some educated decisions and/or alterations can make that choice even greater. Good luck, have fun, and remember- there's no need to stop at one. (It's sad to think of lonely firearms in single firearm homes:()

I'm choosing the 5906.
Plenty of repeating firepower. You won't go deaf for days and have your ears ringing for the rest of your life.. 9mm at close quarters is just as deadly as the .357 without the 6 shot limitation. Hopefully one shot is all you need, but with all of the multiple BG assaults we read about lately I like the idea of having more bullets available at the ready. reloading a pistol is generally faster than a revolver.

**I know there are guys and gals that can reload a revolver just as fast as a pistol, but for most of us it's only something we see the pros do on TV.

a- any gun shot in an enclosed area without ear protection is going to cause hearing damage

b- 9mm is not as deadly as 357 at any range. It is simple mass X velocity = force

The S&W 327 is an 8 shot .357 revolver with a molded light rail that come with moon clips for faster loading.

S&W .357 since thats what I sleep next to at night

If you had to choose between getting shot with a 9mm or a .357 round which would you pick
